Well, as if Facebook hasn't added enough features already, those who need even more of a reason to spend countless hours on the website are in luck.
Confirmed today by CNBC's Twitter Page, Facebook is set to launch a music service on it's site on September 22, 2011.

CNBC strongly confirmed via it's Twitter saying, "Facebook To Launch Music Service Sept. 22 You must login or register to view this content. You must login or register to view this content. You must login or register to view this content.". If that isn't enough confirmation then God help you.
Currently, it appears that iTunes will be the choice partner for Facebook. However, other music services such as the newly U.S arrived music service "Spotify" could also be a choice.
The actual service and launch will be revealed at Facebook's F8 Developer Conference. Which, coincidentally, is scheduled for September 22 as well.

But does Facebook really need a music service? Is it unnecessary and will anyone even use it, or even care? Or is it something that you think you will use occasionally?
What does NGU think?

I think this is just going to be annoying. I mean I like Vocaloid music but that dosnt mean everyone going on my profile will want to hear it. Same goes for everyone else probably. Just because you like a song dosnt mean everyone else does and unless you can turn the feature off so you never have to deal with it then its going to be a pain in the butt.

I agree 100 percent. I mean, while writing this article I couldn't be biased, but the whole time I was thinking of how pointless and annoying for facebook to add a musicservice. Who knows, maybe they'll do something unique with it. But, for now, its useless to me.
