Hipster Braydon in Space
The epic story of one man's quest for food and Water
Section 1:
Earth, nothing more than a tiny blue orb
Floating silently in the distance. From Braydon’s
Perspective, this planet blends in among
The countless others, seamlessly
Drifting throughout space. Braydon has
Lived within the presence of these planets for
Long enough now, their existence is no longer
Acknowledged by the misplaced human.
Although Braydon was an unnatural carbon
Source within the black of space, he preferred
This life among the stars; Braydon was a hipster.
Braydon had felt that living on Earth
Was an awful, mainstream way of going about
Your life, so rather than allowing himself to
Become a subject to human normality, he
Gathered his things (Many of which you’ve
Probably never heard of) and traveled
Deep into heart space. Many others who
Have heard of Braydon’s plummet into
The black abyss of space, dismiss his actions as
Nothing short of insane. Secluded from interaction
With other human beings, Braydon could finally
Live his life without the weight of constant
Judgment from others living on his shoulders.
Living alone in the deep dark depths of space,
Braydon could go about living a dreadfully simple
Life. No expectations, No interaction, just and hipster
And his thoughts: Braydon enjoyed living out his days
like this.
Section 2:
Emerging from the outside vacuum of space,
Braydon returns inside to the safety of his
Floating house. Outside Braydon was harvesting
Space slugs; the slugs make up for nearly eighty
Percent of Braydon's daily food intake. After
Hours of hunting for the these invertebrates
The hipster has little to show for it. Braydon was
Not only running out of food, his water supply
Was also beginning to dwindle. It was
No mystery to anyone that if Braydon could not
Find a reliable source of food and water, he would
Be forced back into the mainstream society that
He had longed to escape from many years ago.
Braydon could not allow himself to reenter the
culture on earth, so whilst packing what remained
Of his food and water he began to construct a plan:
Braydon would set out on a journey if hopes of
Reaching the nearby star named NM-143. The
Star had a fully functioning solar system and supported
active life (Intelligent or not was unknown at this point).
Once a reasonable source of food and water was
Discovered, Braydon would construct a homestead
Nearby. So now with his "fool-proof" plan ready,
Braydon stepped out into the dark abysmal silence
Of Space.
Section 3:
Day begin to pass by as Braydon helplessly floats
Throughout space. The hipster had decided that drifting
Uncontrollably towards his destination would be
An effective, nonmainstream method of travel.
Days now turn to weeks, and Braydon had finally eaten
His last slug; It had seemed a slow agonizing death from
Starvation laid in Braydon's the near future. Although
He may have thought differently than most intelligent
Life-forms, Braydon was not a (complete) idiot; he
Could see now that his hope for survival was slim to
None. Upon letting this realization set in, Braydon
Slowly began to weep (However no tears were produced
On account of the hipster being incredibly dehydrated).
After his breakdown subsided, thoughts began to enter
his head. At last, Braydon had set aside his hipster beliefs
And began thinking as a logical, normal human being.
He had decided he would do the same thing any other
Person would have done in his position. Braydon had
Decided he would rather take his own life than float
For another instant through the dark confines of space.
Braydon had set his mind upon suicide. Unsheathing a
Small dagger on his waist, the hipster
Silently began to say goodbye. However, before he
could conclude his quiet monologue, he was distracted
By an odd figure whirling below him. After a brief
Analysis of the figure, his heart dropped as he realized
What lay just beneath him. Braydon was being sucked
Against his will into a dark black wormhole. Once
Engulfed in strange vortex, he would be moved billions
of miles in an unknown direction. Before he could react
To what was beginning to happen, Braydon was
Swallowed by the swirling vortex. Being sucked
Through the wormhole was an experience
Impossible to describe through text, rather it is a
Phenomenon the can only be grasped by those
Who have experienced it. As soon as it had begun,
His billion mile trip concluded as he was spit out
The other end of the wormhole. Gathering his
Senses, Braydon studied the environment he
Found himself forcefully flung into.
Completely Astonished, Braydon now stared directly
Upon NM-143 and its immense solar system.
Section 4:
Slowly the malnourished bag of skin and bones
Drifted towards a promising blue planet. Being
One of the only humans to ever visit NM-143's
Solar system, it was anyone's guess what Braydon
Would find on the blue planet in front of him.
With another day of drifting Braydon finally neared
His target planet: he has nicknamed this planet "Hope"
For obvious reasons applying to his current situation.
The spacesuit the hipster was sporting had revolutionary
Technology designed to allow reentry from space to
Earth by displacing the heat and pressure. Braydon
Had no idea if the suit would protect him as he reentered
"Hope's" atmosphere. Slowly at first, Braydon began
to fall into "Hope's" atmosphere. With each passing
Second his speed increases exponentially, eventually
Transforming Braydon into a large ball of smoke
And fire. His spacesuit was holding together
Perfectly just as it would have while reentering
Earth's atmosphere. After nearly twenty minutes
of hurling down towards "Hope," Braydon found
Himself rapidly approaching a body of blue liquid.
With a colossal release of energy, the hipster struck
The body of liquid. Uncertain whether or not the liquid
He had just landed into was water, Braydon hesitated
Before slurping up a large hand full of the blue
Substance. With no other visible sources of
Refreshment, Braydon quickly began to intake a
Large amount of the liquid. He was relieved as
He slowly began to confirm that what he was
Consuming was in fact water.
Section 5:
After what seemed like hours of swimming towards
A distant shore, Braydon finally washed up on
A sandy beach, much like the ones he had remembered
From Earth. Braydon had no interest in lounging on the
Beach however, he was extremely hungry and determined
To find himself a small meal. No further than ten
Yards away, Braydon spotted a large creature with a hard
Orange outer shell. Instantly the hipster recognized the
Creature as a crab, however he was not nearly as excited
As he should have been to find his first meal in weeks.
Something was odd about where Braydon had landed.
The atmosphere seemed to be the same as Earths, the planet
Was primarily covered in water like Earth, and now
He is beginning to notice Animals from Earth as well.
After relentless session thought, Braydon believed
He knew where he had landed. The wormhole
He had been sucked inside of did not take him billions
Of miles across the universe, rather it took him to
An odd parallel universe. Braydon now believes
He has landed on Earth in a parallel universe.
To confirm his theory, Braydon began to explore.
What he had found amazed as well as frightened
Him. The planet he had landed on was identical
To modern day earth, aside from one aspect:
Humans had never set foot on the planet. The
Parallel Earth was untouched by human pollution.
Section 6:
Sixty years later and Braydon is still the only
Inhabitant of New-Earth. Ever since he has
Landed on the planet he has lived a life similar to
The one he had enjoyed in space. He was
Alone, free to act and think as he pleased.
For the past Sixty years he has had more food and
Water than he could have ever hoped for. It was
for him a life of simple luxury and he enjoys it
still today as his life draws to a close. From a rejected
Hipster on Earth who was shunned for his process
Of thought, to a happy old man enjoying the end of
His days in a perfect world free from outside pollution.
Braydon has shown us all, that with determination and
A bit of luck, we all can find a place where we may live
Happily and harmoniously.
