(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok guys, I'm mudkip, and to be honest, stereotypes about the british don't offend me, but I just got back from america and everyone was asking if I drink tea and **** so I'm going to answer all of these stereotypes I can find about the british, to stop you all from thinking that this **** is true, I will answer with personal experience and everything I know about britain and all the poeple I know - I know a lot and I know a lot of people Smile and it's pretty funny, so don't say tl;dr or whatever that thing is that says too long to read Smile

lets begin!

Stereotypes in bold

answers in normal writing

English Are very Punctual

I am usually on time for a lot of stuff, but that doesn't occur for everyone, I would say, some people are some people aren't!

English dress in strange ways (e.g. socks with sandals)

BULLS***, I have never seen anyone in England wear socks and sandals, partially because its too ****ing cold Shiver if jeans and a t-shirt is dressing strangely then yes we do dress strangely (we wear other things but that's what I usually wear when I go out Smile)

English love their pets more than other people

This only occurs with single grown ups, not the normal British people (not saying single grown ups aren't normal :confusedSmile

The English are very serious and don't use body language

Again, this isn' true, we use body language when we aren't supposed to speak, like in school =D but really, I'm not certain about this one, I don't really care anyway because thats just a stupid stereotype.

They eat big breakfasts in the morning (e.g. eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans)

I would only ever do that on a holiday, probably about once a year, bowl of cerial, then off to school every morning for me, this breakfast stereotype doesn't really occur where I'm from (London), it could occur in countryside areas, but im not too sure!

English love to garden and our parks are very clean

None of us like to garden, and our parks are filled with chavs (gang members) who smoke drugs and intimidate people.

English people like second hand shopping

As I said im getting these all from online, and I've never heard this one.....anyway it's bulls***, I buy first hand stuff =D

English do everything in a different way (e.g. left side of the road driving, right hand drive, miles instead of km, and pounds instead of kilos (weight))

That's not really a stereotype, yes we do.

English people are stiff, stuck up, snobbish, prudent, unemotional, and obsessed with class and social status.

I can't be bothered to answer all those separately so I'll do them all in one, We aren't stiff, a lot of people are stuck up, yes, a lot of people are snobbish (those 2 are mostly the richer people), we aren't unemotional, and most of us aren't obsessed with class, but some are, they are the stuck up and snobbish lot.

English people don't have balls

yes we do.

Englishmen have stiff upper lips

No one I know has.

English people are rude drunken football hooligans

There people are from different areas to me, but there are a lot of them, people from around me are football hooligans, but not the other things.

English women always wear skirts

I like this one, they do wear skirts, and the length of them depends on where you are, girls from up north tend to wear shorter skirts, which is fine with me Winky Winky but people from where im from still do to, so yes this is pretty much correct.

English people do not like the term soccer

I ****ing hate it.

A good number of english people are gay

There is a fairly large gay community, but their community is not as big as you guys think, so yeah.

Cops are called bobbies

Bulls***, they are called the police Smile

There are a lot of skinheads

Up north, yes, down in London, a fair amount

The English Prefer baths over showers

I have a bath about once a year, shower everyday, only have baths when im very tired and can't be bothered to stand up (like after a day of walking, for the whole day)

English food is ****

Well there is no English food, well there may be one, which i'll come onto in a minute but usually we have like culture themed restaurants like Chinese, Italian etc., so I don't see how our food is shit, in my opinion, it isn't =D I like everything the way it is.

English people all wear bowler hats and use umbrellas

If you were in England in the 40's/50's then we may have done, but definetly not now, we have umbrellas when it rains, is that not normal?!

English people love cricket

Cricket is the shittest sport i've ever played, in my opinion, only the asian people in england play cricket, I hate it, never will play it, the most popular sport is football (soccer:arghSmile, only a handful of Englishmen play cricket and they are the posh ones.

English people eat fish and chips all day everyday

No, we don't, I personally don't like fish and chips and my family hardly ever have it, we have it on odd occasions when we feel like it, but no, we don't have it all day everyday.

The English love using words like "splendid," "terribly," "cheerio," "what-ho," and "bloody."

I'll go through them one by one, splendid, no, only very posh people, terribly, again only posh people, cheerio, no, what-ho, i've never heard in my life, bloody, I always say, like "this is a bloody joke" or whatever, people where im from believe bloody is a swear word, but it ain't and i still use it.

The English all have butlers

I don't have one, never have, don't know anyone that has one, never have, I think only the queen does, and apparently they are all named Jeeves, which also isn't true Smile

The English have bad teeth, and bad breath

Most teenagers have braces, like I do, but that's only to get them properly straight, i'm sure a lot of Americans have braces to, if you think of our teeth being greyish or yellowish, no they aren't they are as clean, if not cleaner than any normal american's, and our breath does not smell unless we eat something that doesn't smell nice, or don't brush our teeth (which we do), like any normal human being.

English people always drink tea and have "teatime"

this is the most common stereotype and thats why I put it in red, the answer is NO we don't! I have tea occasionally with breakfast or when I get home from school, but only to drink like a normal person, to warm me up or whatever, only very posh people have tea as in tea time where they all have tea and scones, e.g. the queen, but I reckon she hardly does that, so yes, the big answer is no, we don't, we do drink tea, but not like you think we do, we drink tea like you Americans drink coffee......I think :\

but yeah thanks for reading guys, if you have any more stereotypes you would like me to answer, just quote me and I'll add them to the top of the threads, if there are any other englishmen, please give your say =D and maybe give me some other stereotypes you get a lot, but anyway, again thanks for reading, and have a nice day Cool Man (aka Tustin)

Quite a few people I know round here have decent gardens, it's probably just the area though.

Also I only have bacon and eggs on a sunday Happy , every other day it's just cereal .

Pichu
RIP PICHU.
I seriously wish to visit England.

By the way, funny thing about Cheerio, for some odd reason I say it. I'm American but I say it at times, friends look at me weird at times when it pops out, I try not to but it does.

Since our schools like American English I do my best to write English in the American text but honestly, more than anything I'm a mix between your English version and ours. Things like Colour vs Color, if you sound it out the first one makes more sense.

Things like that.
