Post: My Rant (The Destruction of Humanity)

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); First off, this is me just ranting. No need for groans or complaints or stupid comments. If you don't want to read it, just please go elsewhere. Thanks.

Earlier today I was sitting in my International Relations class. It's an alright class. Kind of boring for me, but its one of the easier classes on my roster. (a type of class that all you have to do is just pay attention and do your homework) However, I noticed a girl in front of me on her laptop. In college, you would think students would be taking notes and diligently working? No...
This girl was constantly checking her Facebook literally every 3-4 minutes. Not only her Facebook, but also her Twitter and Tumblr. Excuse me for being nosey, but this was really irking me. I was actually getting angry at the fact that she was on Facebook majority of the class. (I get angry at the stupidest stuff. Its a problem) Every opportunity she had, she was on Facebook and Twitter. She wasn't even checking her profile or posting her own status updates. Rather, she was looking at others' profiles and pictures. I know this to be certain because the girl was on the larger side, and the pictures she was looking at were of someone of healthier proportions. And the worst part about it, the person next to her was on Twitter as well. And it was just my fair assumption that they were communicating to one another while sitting in such a close proximity.

As I type this, I think I'm realizing that I'm not ranting about the fact she was on Facebook and Twitter. I'm ranting about the idea that Facebook has become such a dramatic part of our lives. (Our, meaning "mainstream society" I suppose) I digress to say, yes, Facebook has its benefits. I stay in touch with my high school friends that are at other colleges and universities. And I'll admit that I have even fallen into this redundant cycle of checking Facebook, that I don't even realize it. Every time I turn on my laptop, I check G-Mail, then my college email, Facebook, then finally NGU. Admittedly, it has become a habit to just check Facebook.

This girl in front of me was so deeply entwined with Facebook that it bothered me to the point of saying, that Facebook has become a detriment to society. Its as if, if a person doesn't log in to Facebook more than once a day for longer than 5-10 minutes at any given time, then the foundation of their day will collapse. Like it's a necessity to go on Facebook. Everywhere I go, I hear argot of "Facebookers". "Look what he/she posted on my wall." "I just commented on his/her status." Facebook has become a drug to humanity. As if seeing a new notification or comment gives the viewer some sort of "release" or "pleasure". And not to mention the people who post the most inane things about their lives that quite frankly, other people probably don't care about. Also, the many people that don't even spell words correctly and "TAlK LiKE ThIS aLL ThE TiME." It's just become too much.

Honestly, kudos to Mark Zuckerberg. He has single-handedly created one the most popular websites of all time, and is one of, if not, the youngest billionaires on this planet. Facebook generates a crapload of traffic every minute of every day.
But it was at the cost of mankind and its dignity.

Once again, this was just my rant. Please feel free to comment in way you would like. I enjoy opinions. Just don't be a douche about anything.
Thanks.

Crumpets and tea?
Maybe instead of worrying what others do with their day to day lives you should pay attention in class and get on with your own life. Instead of being that weird kid who comes up with odd conclusions to everyday shit that no one really cares about.

Frankly, other people's prerogatives and actions are none of your business. Unless they negatively affect you, then I don't see why you should be or act worried about it. (And don't try to tell me it does, because her Facebook activity has nothing to do with you from what can be deduced by your post, and there is no way you could twist anything around to make it sound like it is.)

If it distracts you, then that is your problem, not her's. She shouldn't have to go by your standards just because you think she should. You're doing the exact same thing "mainstream society" is.

If someone is on their Facebook, and not learning anything as they should be, considering they are attending school, that's their own issue. Not yours.

There's no hope of even writing a decent post on this site. No one even caught this part I assume^^^. Immature comments are so trite on this site. No wonder people always talk shit about NGU No

For those who didn't catch it, my problem isn't with people's business. It was something that caught my attention, therefore I wrote this to express how I felt about it cause it is an issue. There are articles upon articles about how Facebook is a detriment. No one seems to catch the fact that I was writing about Facebook. Or perhaps my writing is too copious for anyone here to analytically understand. And yes, I know I said "comment in any way you would like." But, "u mad bro?" I mean really? Grow up.
