It doesn't take a born business man to figure out tax. I'm also sure it would be better the government takes the tax instead of no education,police,fire, and hospital services ect.

Be glad he doesn't earn 150k plus mate! then you'd be paying a good 75% to the government, only way around it is to hire world-class lawyers at 30k a session to find loopholes.

Basically, I just wanna start by saying yes im only 13, but I know quite a lot. I've been told im a born business man too many times :L Which is kind of what lead me onto this. And because im pissed.

My dad said he paid £25k a year tax (Average Wage?), and I was like WTF :derp:
I went on a tax calculator online to figure out how much he made without tax, and it was 90k.
So after tax he only came home with 65k (Still quite a lot).

Anyway, since then (Last year) he got made redundant, and he said he got at least 3/4 of his wages.
Since he started up as a Music consultant/Publisher and I saw A letter in the kitchen table yesterday, which stated his pay for the financial year (April 2010 to April 2011). It was just over 120k! I Then worked out how much tax he would be paying a year, and its just over £40k!

It's so stupid how much tax he has to pay a year, and you cant say its a small amount.
I Know its one of those things that you have to live with, but It shocks me and pisses me off!
Just having an extra 20k a year back from that would be better.

Anyway, I was wondering how much you pay a year? If you dont feel comfortable saying so, dont feel you have to have every single detail.

This is why high taxes we have these people that say hey i make 25k a year at McDonalds and take home lets say 20k. When you can get unemployment checks and food stamps just to sit on your ass all day when people that are working are paying for you to sit on your ass and get free shit. Dont get me wrong if you lose your job and need it for a month or to that is fine but people living on piss me off.

It pisses me off so much and now where i live instead of stamps that give them cards that look like credit cards so they are not embarrassed. One lady at this store i went to was at the register with her grandson. He asked for a candy bar and his grandma said no you have to wait for you own card. This kid was 5 and is already set to get free shit the rest of his life. That pissed me off big time

Taxes are necessary to have a good country. Here in Norway we pay a lot of taxes compared to the US etc. But as a reward we get free hospitals, education with high quality and a lot of other things I don't have time to list up.

I agree but a lot of it is waste i.e. people living on welfare
