I don't need any type of scientific statement on it. My main thing is just church and state separation.

For example, I don't care if the plaques that are put up in our school from donations say "God bless this school", frankly because I support freedom of religion, speech, etc... But when the government gets involved everything changes.

Plus, our Constitution is unchangeable.
Are you going to take God out of that too?

Our nation was not built on Christianity.

In reality, if you want to stand by our roots you must stand for slavery.

Pre-roots, greed for the most part.

I don't get why people think that God was such a huge part of our founding. The first successful colony was set up by a joint stock company for the goal of profits.

Off the top of your head, how many of the current presidential candidates do you know (what are their names), please don't look them up before you answer, as that would defeat my point.

zero!
Smile I'm in no good place with God right now either!
Studying outside of school is something you'll rarely catch me doing,
and i never pay attention to politics because they bore me, I'd rather be doing other things!
Hope I didn't just make my self look too dumb.

:O did you seriously just say zero...

Off the top of my head Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, Ron Paul, Michelle Bachman, Obama, Sarah Palin, and I remember there is another Perry (but can't remember his first name)

I can even tell you the stances they stand on.

I don't follow that stuff. I'm not old enough to vote yet. Maybe I'll spend a few hours into it every now and then when I'm 18.

It's looking like Palin won't make it. It's mainly between Perry and Romney now, but I'm sad Ron Paul is gone. I liked Ron Paul, he wasn't too much of a Republican for me.

Now I'm stuck with a governor who hosts a state prayer rally /facepalm (no offense)

Heard of Buddy Roemer? He's one of the few candidates that aren't religious nutcases and he even went so far as to admit that our current government system is corrupt. Oddly enough he hasn't been in any of the debates.

But I believe Newt Gingrich stated that an atheist president would be terrible for America... And plenty of people agree with him. Obama is under constant scrutiny because people think he's Muslim. If we have separation of church and state, why should any of this matter?

It is because we really do not have a separation of church and state. Most everyone in political power is a christian, and they fear what would happen if they lost that. Fear has been their greatest weapon, and the majority of voters are not only paranoid, but ignorant. They know if someone who is not christian, gained power the constitution would be enforced, and their hold on power would cease.that and their continual assault against non-believers would end.

Never heard of him, which political party does he identify himself under?

Also, just to give you a heads up I'm capitalist for the most part. I still have mixed feelings about everything though. I'm definitely not a democrat, or necessarily a republican. So that puts me in the rye with politicians who have a little chance on getting in Not Happy or Sad.

Like I said, I'm mixed on issues though:
- Definitely more liberal on most social issues. Mainly because that follows a more secular point of view.
- I say capitalist only because I just don't see socialism working because of basic human traits. Communism is insane for the most part.
- I think we should have some basic help to the unfortunate
- Most of politics is just bullshit. Take for example what happened the the maid for Meg Whitman. I'm not referring to the fact she may have known she had an illegal working for her or not. But the fact that democrats used the illegal against her. What the hell about the fact she's illegal and still in the country!

Also, there's not a ****ing chance in the world that an known atheist would become president for a long time.

Ron Paul was great, people need to listen to him more. He straight headed and not a complete asshole, he has a low tolerance for stupid bullshit. Plus he wants to legalize marijuana.
