Far too good to be true. From experience I remember on Madbid in particular each "penny" bid costs a pound so when it says £20.00 or whatever for an XBOX they've actually made £200 and so on. The site's make loads.
Did you ever get anything off madbid?

Exactly, the price only goes up by a penny, but it usually costs 1 dollar to bid. They make their money on that stuff and then some. Alot of stuff usually nets them
1600% profit from when they bought it new and put it up for auction. Those sites are a huge scam.

No point. I forgot there's often a countdown thing as well whereby once the time goes down to 0 if anyone has bidded within the last 20 secs it'll restart at a minute and countdown again, very hard to actually win anything.

And I've just realised Ive missed the joke completely /facepalm, lol.

It looks cheap and easy, but the catch is that you have to buy a "bid pack" or "bids" of some sort. (I know because I've signed up for a couple sites. Never bought the bids but had a look around) The bids are outrageously priced. I don't remember which penny auction site it was, but the highest amount you could buy was like 500 bids, for $350. So, you're basically paying to bid on their site, then whatever the total is at the end of the auction, you have to pay that as well.
