It's not compulsory in Islam, and I do not see in reason in why it should be " against the law" as long as the women are willing to co-operate with authorities. ( Taking it off when needed).

No. If I was to go into a bank wearing a balaclava, I would instantly be seen as a robber, no matter how cold it is outside. But if I wear one of these, it's fine? No one will know I'm not a woman and I have other intentions than not showing my face. Anyone could be hiding under them, including the most wanted person in the country, and no one would know.
If we go to islamic places, we have to wear what they say. We cannot show our religion by wearing crosses. We get told off. I saw something like this on the news ages ago. A air hostess were wearing a cross in an islamic country and got told to take it off. If we go there, to Pakistan, we should be able to show our religion and wear what we want, like they do here.
I live in a Muslim country, I've christian friends, all of them have crosses, and EVERYONE is cool with it.
Racism does not exist in the middle east, period.
