Do you believe killing another human being can be justified?
Just seeing what people say for my English class :fa:
Pretty much everyone will give the same response. Killing is justified in the case of self-preservation and protection of others.
Self-preservation would include both self-defense and resources. If someone was attacking you and it was a kill or be killed situation, killing that person is justified. If someone is preventing you from getting the basics needed to survive, ie. a kidnapper who is refusing to feed you, killing is justified if there's no other way of escape.
Protection of others is pretty much the same thing, hense why police can justify killing someone to protect a hostage. Obviously killing is a last resort.
However, I feel there's a third time when killing is justified, to protect liberty. Killing someone who is stifling the freedom of others, someone who is removing peoples right to free speech, free expression, etc. imprisoning people for no reason, or for an unjust reason etc. these are reasons I would kill for. I would kill if there was a revolution against an unjust government. I would kill to ensure freedom of the press. I would kill to stop the exploitation of the lower classes... some people would consider my position to be extremist, but most don't otherwise we'd never have war, as most wars are for variations of the reasons I've listed.
