Book report.
In my book "A Child Called It" Dave Pelzer's mother beats him to death, she puts his life through hell and he wants out of it.
He is a afraid to run away because he knows if she finds him she will kill him. Dave in this true story only got to eat dinner crumbs and stolen school food, but the stolen food doesn't last long because he has to puke it up before he goes home so his mother doesn't know.
A short summary of "A Child Called It" :
One of the worst child abuse cases in California’s history came to a end when Dave entered a foster care on March 5, 1973.
Plot:
Pelzer is abused by his alcoholic mother as a child.
Setting:
The setting of my story is Daly City, California
My thoughts of this story:
I thought this story was inspiring because Dave was put through a lot and when we get told no we get mad imagine when we asked for something we got beat, it inspired me because I know that he had a hard life and I know to stay away from that type of life, it’s a good thing my mom is clean of drugs and alcohol.
Why people should read this “Truly Amazing Story”:
It could inspire people just like it did me, and I want to put the word that your life isn’t that bad just imagine getting starved everyday eating burnt crumbs, and getting forced to throw up, imagine sitting in a room full of poisons, and sleeping on a old army cot with no blanket in a cold room.
