Actually, its superconductivity and what you are seeing is the meissner effect. There is only one magnet (the base) the frozen disc is the superconductor, its not actually magnetic and at normal temperatures its just a disc made from a ceramic compound that produce zero resistance at very cold temperatures (meaning it has a high super-conductive temperature). Most conductors can become super-conductive at absolute zero, but that is not actually possible to reproduce on earth (although you can get very close to it). It also acts like a magnet too, if he pulled the superconductor away it would attract the magnet.

Very brief explanation, Google the meissner effect for more info.
