I know it's just a video, but I thought it would set off a better discussion here. This gave me the chills. The baffled, blank look on the faces of the policemen said everything. It was like they knew the marine was right, but didn't have the courage to agree. Anyways, watch this if you haven't already seen this and tell me what you think.

To me, they are all the same. Not the general population in Iraq, but the terrorist, they're all the same types of bastards. No disrespect to any civil people there and I'm not saying that all Iraq's are the same. It's just sad that those assholes have given certain middle eastern countries a horrible reputation. If Iraq/Afghan were a book, terrorism would undoubtedly be its cover. But like you've stated, you can't judge a book by its cover.

I was laughing at the submissiveness of the police.

Since the government backs the police and law enforcement, they have the right to **** the general population over. What I can't stand is the way the government or the police act like they own this country. It's complete bullshit, this idea of possession and having control makes those asshole so damn egotistic. I can rant about that all day, but that's a completely different argument. The police do what ever the **** they want, or what ever the **** who ever in the higher ranks demand them to do.

Overreacted? If anything, he should have done more. Where I'm from, I hear too and see too much of these 'bad cops' so it's hard for me to accept that these pigs have even the slightest bit of decency in them. How are the cops doing nothing wrong? What you didn't see in this video was the cops beating unarmed and innocent civilians. The marine was simply standing up for them, and I completely agree with him. The people are rebelling because they are being treated unjustly. I admire our population for the rebellions because without such spirits, we will continue to get ****ed by the 'higher authority' -- which again I believe is a bullshit idea. Just recently, haven't the idiotic police just shot a number of endangered bengali tigers? Shot to death I mean, whereas a tranquilizer would have had the same effect and they could have securely returned the animals to their place. But nooooo, let's just shoot and kill them, right? Well, at least that's what their mind state is. Another story over here that happened recently was the police senselessly beating a homeless guy to death... There are too many examples of how shitty cops are over here and I can't with a clear conscience agree with your views until I see some clear change.

Yes. He said they were c u n t s. I agree, they are. If only they were here to stop crime, lmao. Good one. They are waaaay too busy over here busting kids smoking weed rather than stopping true crime. Also, how is calling the cops a c u n t considered racial discrimination? Calling them niiiiggers or something could be considered as such, but I think c u n t is a beautiful word to generalize those pigs.

I believe this was during the "occupy wallstreet" movement?

Any US Citizen that disagrees what this man said, then do not call yourself a US Citizen from now on. I don't see how you could disagree with this man. Also, if you are not from the countries mentioned in the video which are "Iraq" and "Unites States of America" then please do not enter the discussion.

How about Fúck You!

I'll join any bloody discussion I want, don't you dare think you're more qualified to give social commentary just because of the country you happened to be in on the day you fell out of your mothers vagina you ignorant little prick.

As far as this debate goes, I'm disgusted with the tone of the comments here. Is this supposed to be a civilised forum or somewhere for the morons of the world to gather. When I say I consider the police to be no better than gangs, this is an informed opinion based on the observed reactions of the police. I feel that all too often, especially in USA (and somewhat in my own country), the police act without any regulation and often to administer their own form of justice where they provoke people into swearing and then arrest them for "threatening behaviour". In the UK the police are guilty of "kettling" which is something you really should look up if you're unfamiliar with it, and it's a sick way of stifling free speech and silencing dissenters. This is why I dislike the police, because I do not see them as people who protect and serve the community, I see them as bullies who provoke people and insult people to get a reaction just as an excuse to arrest them, after all, the more arrests they make the better they look. It's not right and it needs to be changed.

What I do not appreciate is people then using this thread as an excuse to start being racist bigots. I don't care what you think of Islam, Muslims or the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you label every single person in a country as terrorists, or condone the killing of anyone of a nationality or skin colour out of your own ignorance you are a pathetic excuse for a human being. This soldier miss-chose he words sure, he meant that the police should go and fight the enemies of the US people in war-zones rather than harassing innocent people, and it's clear from his tone what he meant. He was sticking up for innocent people trying to exercise their constitutional right to free speech who are being intimidated and silenced by fúcking riot police. It was a brave thing to do and he should be commended for it. Sure, in the heat of the moment his words can be misconstrued but the meaning behind them is clear and it's pathetic that people would take the quick and careless words of someone trying to stand up for justice, and use them to justify racism.

How's that for an opinion from someone not from those countries .Nik? Now kindly fúck off, no-one wants you here you stupid nationalistic, self-aggrandising prick.

This is an international issue common to far beyond just the United States and Iraq. You're bringing up the aspects of the war whereas we're trying to discuss the unjust actions of the police. You're ignorant if you think other countries views should be kept out of this discussion because from what I've personally seen, I know the actions of the police in countries far less developed than the United States are much more severe. So, at least have an open mind.

Well that was a lovely description of his birth, but in all seriousness, the police feel as if they have some sort of ownership over the citizens. Plato's views on justice can come into play here as he created a character and argued that justice is truly the interest of the stronger and that is indeed what is happening in the modern world.
