I'm in a bit of a sticky situation, im from the UK and im only a teenager, long story short, I want to be a stand up comedian, I know, a little strange, I don't know why but ever since I was about 12 I've always liked the sound of being a comedian, I even told my mum at 12 I wanted to go to comedian school, no one took me seriously obviously (especially as there is no such thing as comedian school), now, my problem is, I don't know how to tell anyone and I'm worried that this dream is too good to be true, I've read many English comedians' autobiographies and it took a lot of them over 5 years to get to where they started out and most of them dropped out of university/college and got very bad grades in school, I go to a very good school, my grades are great and I am planning to go to a great university, and i'm worried if I carry on with this, my dream will slip away, and if i drop out and get bad grades and then I fail to be a comedian, I will have no where to turn, I have collected many funny things that have happened to me in my life (I basically have my whole comedian act planned out and as I type this thread I am writing my first set, pretty hard and some of the things I thought were funny before, don't sound as funny when spoken and written into a script) and I sometimes casually slip these jokes into conversations and I normally get a lot of laughs! I need advice on what to do, and also how to tell my family and parents, they will most likely laugh at me, not with me, because they will most likely think I am not funny , so yeah if anyone has any good advice to give me, please give it to me,

It sounds weird but I don't want to give it over the internet, If I do a gig at a bar or something I will be sure to make a video of it, like seth rogan, the american actor, did a gig at 13 years old!
