Dame Los Nuggets Plz
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So my external HD was dropped about a week back and now its not being detected by my computer. Its little power light turns on, but it does not show up to be accessed. Any body have any ideas what could be the problem?

Maybe the usb port of the HD died and thats why you can see the light turn on but your pc doesnt recognize it. Time to get a new HD Smile

try this man hook your external up let all lights come on and if it has a cord that detatches from the drive yank it if not pull the usb. this fixed mine once
its not recognized at all right?

Mine was dropped 1 year ago same problem as yours, I brought it to a electronic store and they were able to fix it for around $25 Smile

took it apart & the adapter gets recognized. i think the HD died.

yes recognized as in you can safely remove it, but no detection in My Computer.
