It's an arena it's pretty much a mini-game inside WoW where you battle other players and it can get pretty competitive.
Also, the mom isn't the only one at fault, the son shouldn't be yelling at his mother.

They guy that was In the "Arena" minigame, was just in the guys voice chat. for their guild.
