Black Friday pretty much means when stores/companies make a profit or are in the black...
Someone can probably give a more detailed explanation. I don't care and I ignore Black Friday. It's just insane.. Someone died last year Black Friday from being trampled on because of Black Friday. It is just ridiculous.

It a retail day. Not a hoilday just a day which happens after the hoilday of thanks giving.
Philadelphia is where the term was first used to describe the traffic following thanks giving.

UK does have it just under a different name. Boxing day sales

Lol boxing day is after new years day, and not its not even that cheap i think, the usless things are probly cut bwt 10%

What happens on Black friday? It is basically the day in the US the day after thanks giving were most places offer pretty decent sales. The local walmart had ps3s for 189 usd (thats about 122 pounds.) And I bought a 50 inch Sony bravia internet ready 1080p tv for 498 usd ( 322 or so pounds) it was 1,100 usd
