Actually it isn't more hygienic, in fact it's less hygienic. I don't know about you but my cock doesn't ooze filth, but dust, hair and other particulates in the air or on your clothes can get onto the head of the penis as well as stale sweat which all together makes it pretty dirty. The foreskin acts as a barrier, stops the dust etc, and stale sweat (as the head of the penis doesn't have sweat glands... it's an internal organ why would it). All you've done is allowed a part of your body which is supposed to be internal to now be exposed to the elements at all times. This does as you've said; dries out the outer membrain so that it's like skin, kills off the nerve endings and basically makes your penis less sensitive so sex isn't as good. Remember the only things that can get trapped inside the foreskin is urine; which is sterile, and smegma (or cum residue to those who don't know what that is); which is again sterile... neither will make you ill or give you an infection etc. in any way although both smell bad I suppose, but so long as you clean it daily there's no issue, it's easier than cleaning under your finger nails and people can manage that right.
