I think he ment they are not of the quality of the TOP English teams now. They certainly arn't shit as proven by recent European adventures by both clubs. Sure they wouldn't win the English league if they were in that but i would bet my house on them being able to get in the top 8. They would attract even more quality players and the top Scottish players would stay with them.

For me im a Liverpool fan but i would take Rangers marginally over Celtic as being my favourite Scottish team.
