(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Looking to work the summer towards my car's sound system.
The car that I'll have will be either a
2002 Hyundai Senata 4-speakers (Front Doors, Rear Deck) .. white
2005 Chevy Malibu 4-speakers (Front Doors, Rear Deck) .. silver

I'm basing this thread on the first option.

Using crutchfield.com I've looked for prices and examples of what I'd get and found that these following items will fit my car.
Here are the links to the..

Front Doors ("Fits with Brackets" .. I don't know for sure what this means.. could somebody tell me? lol)
$89.99

Rear Deck (does it matter if I cross my speaker types? If I need to use the same type in both places, I can use the Front Door speakers in the Rear Deck as well.)
$99.99

Amp. (I know nothing about amps! whats wattage do i need, will this be fine? How many will I need?? 1? 2? or 3?) Could anybody explain?

All of these have:

In Stock
Installation gear worth $22.98 - FREE
Installation guide(s) - FREE
Crutchfield lifetime tech support - FREE
Shipping - FREE

Will I be able to install all this within a day or two by myself?
My Dad's occupation is an audio engineer.. He's been making a living as an audio directer at churches and gigs such as a Super Bowl and Hard Rock Cafes for his whole life, HOWEVER, he does not know that I even have an ipod or mp3 player as he took my BB that had my music on it a year and a half ago because he doesn't like my music. I don't want to get him too involved because he doesn't like my music. I'm not even allowed to have a mp3 player. I'm 16.

Could somebody provide a guide or give advice???
I know this isn't a speaker forum.. could somebody direct me to one if they do not have knowledge on this?
Thank you all VERY much!!!

P.S. On another note, later down the road.. I'm considering a Set 4 of 18" wheels with tires.. It'll cost a grand though..

And a paint job.. those go for around $600 right? Thinking Red or Lime Green or Black..

Will have a job this summer.. probably minimum wage. Have a Birthday in early September that brings in $300.
I'm sure that I can cover the speakers with my job. I'm just not so sure about whether or not I'm willing to save for a paintjob and wheels.

While the Ohm impedance matches the Amplifier, It lacks power to each channel. The key here is to ensure each channel has enough power to drive at least 80% of the Peak RMS rating. And I'm sorry but Crutchfield is a rip-off, they give good tutorials and have a decent selection but those parts can be up to 50% cheaper on You must login or register to view this content. or on amazon or ebay. As to hooking it up, I'm not experienced with that. All I know is, is that the amplifier needs more wattage in order to drive those components. Theres various sites that show you different techniques on how to bridge, hook up rva cables etc.. You must login or register to view this content.

The answer to your question requires either someone with professional experience or you with the knowledge of how to install everything to ensure it will last. Some people may act like they know what they're doing, but if it isn't done correctly the speakers will blow sooner or the sound may not be optimal.

$600 for a paint job? That's how much the material costs  On the high end, anyways.. I paid $3000 for the paint job on my camaro.

As far as the speaker equipment, it's all junk. Get a couple 4-ohm Subs with a nice ported box, and a 2,000 watt AMP to go with it, and you'll do just fine for a 16 year old. It's not hard to hook up. Connect ground wire to car, other end to "ground" on amp. Connect power to battery, other end to "power" on amp. Run wire for speakers. Wire the deck into the car, which is also easy. Just connect all the matching colors :derp: Remember the red wire on the wiring harness connects to the amp, so the stereo turns on and off when you turn the car on and off Winky Winky

It's not as hard as it looks until you decide to set up a real stereo system. :p

Yeah probobly that "maco" shit, my dad painted his bmw for 8k; they gotta take everything apart for a good paint job. If you buy the cheap ones they paint the shell not under they dont even take the shell off.
