And experience!! Such as noticeable input lag and what not.
Why am I asking?
1) I ****ing love NGU, I am honestly trying to become a more active member. And feel that there are a-lot of people here who may be able to help.
2) I need a new TV, range: ($500-$1000, 46" lcd or led). I know plasmas are good but, we had one and after I played a couple hours of GTA and then my stepbrother and sister playing after I did the screen was burnt in. (about a week of playing) The TV was not that old.
3) O input lag!! Recently I have been reading about input lag and what not, I'm getting ****ing sick of all this information. Some people claim you cannot really notice the lag, but I disagree.
I used to play mw2 on a crt until I started using our living room tv.. A 32" lcd and noticed that I started playing pretty shitty. So that is when my researching started a year and a half ago.
I will continue to do my research on the side, but I would like to know your personal experiences.
I have a Phillips 32" LCD that I got around Christmas time 2 years ago. I have never noticed any input lag and haven't had any problems with it. It keeps up with my gaming. :p
I put two Samsung 55" LEDs in my house. 1080p, 240hz, 3D. Top of the line. Paid $2800 apiece.
However, I bought my mom a 30" Samsung LED and it cost me $400. It looks nice. It's a 4000 series.
Make sure you get an LED, NOT LCD.
LCDs are old technology. I had a "top of the line" Sony in my rental house whilst in college. It won't last you more than 5 years. I'd hate to wonder how long a lower quality one would last.
Plasmas are old tecnology too, they make new ones that shift pixels to avoid burn-ins, but all plasmas put off a lot of heat! Do you want a hot TV? It'll radiate that heat too. Also, the color tones are way different, they are not my preference.

So TV brand, size, lcd?led?plasma? age?
If you really want something for gaming, get a monitor. I recommend the ASUS VH236H monitor. It is an HD monitor, so you don't have to worry about quality. It is 23", and it has 2ms of input lag. It is also the official monitor of MLG.
