A Florida teenager who stabbed a schoolmate to death will not face any criminal charges, a judge ruled this week in Naples, Fla.
Fifteen-year-old Jorge Saavedra was facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of Dylan Nuno, 16, after a judge ruled the boy's action against a bully amounted to self-defense, naplesnews.com reports.
(Collier County Circuit Judge Lauren) Brodie based her decision this week on the findings from a two-day December hearing, during which students who witnessed the events Jan. 24, 2011, testified that several teens announced the fight on the bus, and Saavedra got off several stops early in Golden Gate Estates. ...
In a nine-page document released Tuesday by the State Attorney's Office, Brodie stated that by getting off the bus several stops before the location where the fight was to happen, Saavedra "demonstrated that, with or without a knife, (he) had no desire to fight with Dylan Nuno."
According to testimony, Nuno, a junior, followed Saavedra, a freshman, off the bus and punched him in the back of the head. Saavedra tried to get away.
He then stabbed Dylan Nuno 12 times in the chest and abdomen. Two of the blows caused fatal wounds, including one that nicked his heart.
I think this is a very good subject (bullying) and that it isn't funny to pick on people. The Columbine High School Massacre was caused by bullying... And many other school shootings. The bully didn't deserve to die.. But I don't feel bad for him. If you're gonna pick on/harass somebody, don't expect anything good to come out of it. A lot of people pick on people they don't really know. Everybody has limits, and sometimes that limit gets reached very fast. It's like you're poking an alligator with a stick.. It will eventually bite back!
Please tell me what you guys think about this.. Murder is a big deal, do you think what he did was right? Or was it over the limit? Did you ever experience bullying, or witnessed it? Thanks.
to be honest, if you've been bullied, you would do anything to destroy the other persons feelings. its really sad, seeing some one who is really poor and weak, getting humiliated and beat up while everyone else is laughing & cheering.
If you do see anybody walking on their own looking unhappy, or with their heads down upset, ask em whats up, help them change their life, because, when they commit suicide, its too late
These days, people are about weed, money, girls, especially the teens(im also a teen)...
i cant decide on this in a way the bully took it too far and perhaps deserved what was coming to him, on the other hand to stab him repeatedly must be the early signs of a psycopath and i think he deserves some jail time and counciling to straighten him out or else it could lead to a disatrous adult life for him mentally
Killing the bully is a absolute disgrace, there are anti-bullying systems put into place to stop bullying, and personally I think killing the bully is horrible. Yes, the bully was a bad person and may of harmed the victim over the years, but that gives the victim no right to take the bullys life from him, his family, his friends and the rest of the school will then have to put up with the fact that the bully had been killed.
The anti-bullying systems embedded into schools should be used, this would of given the teenager someone to talk to, and also to guide him home safely to his parents to discuss what had been going on, taking the bullies life make him WORSER than the bully himself, considering the bully had never taken a life before doesn't mean the victim can go around killing.
Why was the victim carrying a knife anyway?
What ever happened to equality and diversity? The fact that everyone is equal making the victim of the bullying the same as anyone else, why has he been let off for the murder of another boy?

My personal story:
Okay, yesterday ( Jan. 5th 2012 ) I was in one of my bad classes... You know, the one that everybody talks, and doesn't pay attention. Well there's these group of black girls ( no racism intended ) and they always pick on this other white girl ( again, no racism intended ), and they always throw shit in that class.. Well, there's a new kid in my school, he showed up right when we came back from Christmas break. The black girls were throwing shit at the white girl, and of course, one of them missed and hit the new kid right in the back of the head. He looked down at his desk, his face was red, and he was squeezing his face together.... He looked like he was about to explode! He stood up, and yelled "Who the **** threw that!".. Nobody answered of course, and he grabbed his notebook and stuff, and walked out of the classroom. I thought that they wouldn't throw stuff anymore, but they still do... They act like 9-year-olds...... Grow up
He apparently has a short fuse.. But they're pretty lucky, he would've kicked them to the moon.
:megusta:
Was killing him right? Probably not.
Did killing your bully fix your problem? NOPE!
