They violated your Constitutional rights by not reading you your Miranda Rights.
Did the police stake out your location? Or did someone call them up?
All Miranda rights do is protect what you say. And according to the OP he never gave a statement.
For example if a cop says I am under-arrest for murder, they then question be about that murder they are supposed to read me my Miranda rights. If they don't and I say something which could bite me in the ass I could mention to my lawyer that and could potentially have what I said thrown out.
As to OP, I would contact a lawyer, because they know best. But from my understanding I do not believe the cops did anything wrong. Furthermore you have to prove that the police are withholding information. It's an up-hill battle.
The American legal system is a joke. I believe that cops should have camera's and audio recording equipment at all active times! Unless a cop sees something when he's off duty and has the proper proof such as witnesses. I also believe that our courts should be monitored too.
