Quite easily actually when I see videos like this I don’t often feel an overburdening weight on my shoulders or as if I’m somehow responsible for the hardships that these children have to endure, I’d much rather give one pound to an organisation like cancer research UK or the British Heart Foundation etc. something that affects far more people in my country or family.
Kony has abducted around 66,000 children. Doesn't seem so minimal now?

No I full well understand that they do not have the option to simply opt out of being in poverty but their governments should be sorting out this problem not our governments. If it wasn’t such a corrupt backwards country they wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place I mean these people live in the most remote baron areas in Africa where water is miles away and there is no food, here’s an idea migrate to somewhere else in Africa where there is water and food or you stay where you are and suffer the consequences and die out either way the problem is solved that’s how it should be organisations should not be funding these people there are only prolonging there eventual death, have you perhaps seen that fantastic Oxfam advert with the child that has to walk 10 miles to collect water each day most people with half a brain cell would have built the village next to the water supply.
Once again, did you bother watching the video?

Yes I agree but at the same time we should not be forced to care after my comment above I appear to have been crucified by each member in this thread for having a difference in opinion.
No it's not for having a different opinion. You didn't even watch the video, yet you criticize it. If you watched it you would realize they aren't asking for money

No it certainly won’t change overnight but it doesn’t appear to have changed in the last 2000 years most civilisations make some form of progress over time but Africa has not look at Rome 2000 years ago it was a fantastic civilisation with a working government Africa still struggles with that today whether or not throwing money at these organisations actually does anything is for the organisations themselves to decide because there the only ones that are going to see a change to everybody else in a first world country Africa still looks like a shit hole.
So it hasn't changed at all? Secondly, Rome is one part. How about you look at the barbarian lands they were conquering? /facepalm

Yes well when I see people needless insult me due to a difference in oppinions it makes me realise how narrow mined people are and any other opinion other than there’s must be wrong or evil.
Once again! You are criticizing the video without bothering to watch it.

I don’t think you understood what I was trying to say, essentially I was suggesting as Winston Churchill said it almost seems to be our burden to have to bring peace and order to these countries that cannot do it themselves. I wasn't implying that the world revolves around us.
European imperialism left Africa in wrecks...

If people do this because they genuinely care then that’s fine my one problem is that we I not be attacked and insulted because I don’t think the same way as the people in this thread.
You didn't watch the video....

Touché, I have not studied or looked at in detail the end of the colonisation of Africa. So regarding your comments it could somewhat fall on us to help restore these countries to there former state.
Agreed. It reminds me of how the US tore up the Middle East more through Afghanistan, Israel, etc...

Brought over my post from another post:
I would go on an extraordinarily long rant, because the subject here is a very sensitive thing and shouldn't be looked at from just a single point of view, so I'll just summarize.
What is happening there isn't something that we need to get involved in. Multiple sources have already shown that out of 7.8 million dollars only 1.5 million ever reached Africa. 4 million was given back to the US and the rest was kept for personal gain. The 5 CEO's of the company each make $80,000 a MONTH.
It's incredible how a man and a kid with a camera can change the world, and yet people just watch and stare, and support something as if they know what they are talking about. I'll tell you right now, they don't know shit.
They are preaching about violence about abuse, and about rape etc. That happens RIGHT OVER HERE. People over here get killed, they get abused and used and the government doesn't give a shit, but of course since it doesn't happen to you, you feel the need to protest against something else in another country and ignore the current one that you live in? Instead of making our economy better and going to work you use your time to "raise awareness" and leech from this economy by asking support via money, troops and supplies?
Listen, this is something that I would really think heavily upon, because it doesn't seem that anyone truly understands how this is going down. Yes, I can admit that what is happening over there is wrong, but frankly the United States DOES NOT HAVE TIME for something of this scale. Essentially it's just more and more people who are depending on the United States and just wanting them to do everything for them.
You care so much? NO.
You don't really care, because if you did you would take action yourself, you just say that change is needed and just sit on your ass and wait for people with money to do something and then say "YAY WE DID IT" In truth you didn't do shit you complained, whined and made it so that everyone made a huge deal out of it and now the people with money have to pay? Wait WHAT $#@!ING MONEY? This is the sole reason America is in the shape it is now.
Get your shit straight first America before you start getting involved in things that you can't handle, the last thing's we need are more debt to be paid off.
Now I want to clarify, I am a nice person and I appose what this man is doing, but if you want to get involved, now isn't the time to do it.
Flame me all you want, it's the truth, and the truth hurts especially when you have to decide between helping one set of people verses another.
Show me in the video where it's asking for money... really show me

He has many men and has brainwashed thousands of kids. It's not as simple as sending 100 troops over there to kill him. It will take much more time and money to fix this problem. I'm not sure the US should be the only country trying to help. It should be the entire world.
I also can't help but to think that if this was happening to us that Africa as a county would not give a $#@!. They may not be able to help themselves much, but the US can't just go around cleaning other companies shit up. We need to get our shit straight first.
I am for the movement, I actually donated a few dollars to it at school. If the United States people want to help then let them, but they should not try to force the government to help them.
1. It isn't just the US. It is occuring world wide
2. Yes the US needs to clean up, but this is a clean operation
3. Good for you :y:
