Now this thread is a poll to see what reputation system YOU prefer, the current, the one we have now, etc. etc.
Please keep in mind that this is just a general consensus to see what you all prefer, and if one 'wins' the poll, that doesn't mean that system is being enacted. We're just looking for opinions.
Personally, I believe the best reputation system to be the one that was here when I joined - Not regulated at all. No +/- cap truly let members get what they deserve out of their hard work or bad posts. The more effort you put into things, the more effort you'd get out of them. It promoted activity in my eyes, and that is how I would want it to be now. Rep boosters or people who exploit and abuse it would have a more harsh punishment.

I remember hearing "the rep system is fine, it'll be better this way" or it would be better this way, but i do also remembering alot of people saying not to mess with it because in the end it would go back to what it was in the first place :p with derek on top and all the babies whining whenever he neg repped them.

Oh good this topic again....
The fact people never learn worries me..
Uncap system was stupid and hurt the site...peoples e penis grow and decided to throw it around. We saw examples of with some of the messages left on rep walls and still do.
During the uncap system we saw in GD, copy and paste image threads , news threads and trying to be funny threads.
After it was removed we saw the same sort of content. With very little discussions or debate going on. Am willing to say that most of the content within GD during that period was nothing but unless spam.
Then we got a debates section and you know what some very good debates appeared.
Fact this site does very little to help discussions with most of the community not caring for shows.
Changing the rep system will not bring back discussions to GD not without a change within the community.
Rep prestiges are a interesting idea....
However they should have never been added with the current limits should have been around during the uncap times.
Am more then happy with the current system. It means users can't backseat mod using rep.
Still i would remove rep....due to the maturity issues with the community

More then willing to ignore somethings due to the age thing or just ignore it in general.
What am saying is uncapping it would not gain activity in sections.
Not much has changed you still get reward for releasing content now and uncapped.
Oh well the debate is pointless then thank you and all the staff for sharing you views
