(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I bought an HD PVR, and I just want to hear your techniques on getting a bit more popular on YouTube. I don't mean getting 10,000 views every video (although that would be nice) I mean like getting a few active subscribers and how I can appeal to them. BTW, my channel is all about gaming (MW3,BF3,Fifa 12, etc...) and I'm starting right from the bottom Smile
Thanks for all your replies :p

You have to make original content, think outside the box.
Try and make your videos more interesting, spontaneous etc, no one wants to hear a commentary about a gameplay theyre watching :p .

Have a regular upload calender. This makes sure people will come back to watch your videos instead of checking up ever so often.

Set a number of videos such as 1 every Saturday and people will come every saturday to watch your videos. This helps make your subscriber base active.

As many of the others have said above, being as original as possible is key. Although it may be risky. You could try something
different that no one has seen that often/before, but you run the risk of it receiving criticism and dislike. Being popular on YouTube
nowadays is harder than ever. You either make it or you don't, and most of it comes from promoting yourself non-stop.

The MW3 community is dwindling as people are growing tired of it, and BF3 is becoming more popular
to watch, but its more difficult to capture those moments worthy of displaying on YouTube. If you want to model someone
who is really successful, watch some of You must login or register to view this content.. Yeah he does MW3 gameplay which some may not care
for anymore, but his focus is on the different topics he talks about which makes the gameplays fun to watch.
He's an extremely intelligent person as well and is always worth the watch and listen if you have the time. Also, another reason he
is extremely successful is due to his constant uploading. It's no surprise to see 1-3 new videos a day from him.

However, I wish the best of luck to you and your channel! Smile

I don't mean to self-promote, but one thing you can do is submit to our YouTube channel. It'll be getting a lot of exposure on the site so that could definitely be helpful.

You can send me a PM if you're interested.

This could help although may of been answered, Their are channels dedicated to promote your videos on their channel like the NGU one and also people like Machinima which can offer you a director and partnership if they enjoy your videos. One thing you can do it commentate anyway even if your not recording then it becomes second nature to you and you automatically do it and you wont be saying words like uhhm and hmm you know the fillers, its really good if you do this and will help you a lot. Also doing dual commenterys is always good, give me a pm if you want to do some I don't have a PVR but I would love to do it with you, a mix of personality and how we react to each other is always a good starter not just me but other people on the forum. I have done videos before so I know its hard to start off but make sure you really put yourself out their at first you might be getting 10 views a video but if its continues then that means 10 people like your videos and that's always good, make sure you stick by it you never know whose watching someone from machinima could be but you don't know it so if you keep by it normally by the 2nd year yes YEAR is when people start noticing you and also put effort into it and have fun while your doing it remember if your not enjoying it how is anyone else going to enjoy it, I'll try my best to give you a lot of support as best as I can. Good Luck in the youtube business one thing I can say is my sociability from when I started doing videos and now has really changed I'm much more outgoing and also much less shy.

Sorry for the TLAwesome faceR but I wanted to try help you as best as I could.
