I personally think that humans think too much about death, so much so that they are wasting their time breathing. There really is no point pondering your afterlife or whatever if you use your precious time here thinking about what WILL happen.
It's severely clichèd, but live in the now.
Also, when I do spend a few precious seconds thinking about death, I realise that we are just mammals with bigger frontal cortex than any other species on earth, which means we are actually overstating how important we actually are.
I very much doubt that cats, dogs, rabbits or squirrels spend their days thinking about their untimely end. The reality is that we are no bigger, better or more important than anything else on earth, we are born, we have the urge to reproduce, then die.
And please, don't take religion into this >_>
For the most part, I agree. However, and as much as I hate saying this as someone who loves (other) animals, we
are superior as a species. It may only be the small differences that separate us so, but they're differences in our favour none-the-less. Our ability to adapt, our ability to talk, our heightened intelligence... don't downplay these differences.
