(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); im tempted to get a black magic intensity shutter USB 3.0 for PS3 HDMI but i know about HDCP so blah blah blah cant record directly but i want to know, if i use a black magic can i view my PS3 on the computer desktop so e.g. is on the black magic software but cant record the gameplay, so i could play my PS3 through the PC, but not record?

the reason for this is if i can view it but not record i could just use fraps and record the desktop screen which would be the gamplay on the screen so im not directly recording the gameplay but a screen with the gameplay on?e

i know that this works with aver media capture card but that crashed my PC hence the external one, (plus getting a new laptop soon) so i want to know if the black magic software is the same.

can i view but not record then?

Who dares, wins.
If you are talking about secure HDMI (copyrighted material) then no. The screen on the computer will remain black. However you may be able to use the component cable to record, I know that it can be done on Xbox with an hdpvr, so I'm assuming the ps3 will be the same. (I have an intensity pro)
