Yes.

You can have a good sound system, but what if you want to talk to friends online? You can't really because you'd have to turn down your sound system so the person your talking to doesn't here the sound of your game.

I think gaming headsets are pretty good, you get good sound with out pissing anyone off.

With the headset it's like a sound system straight to your ears. & I wouldn't go with the wireless, because you would have to charge it n stuff.
mine is wired and I sit fairly far from my ps3. Plus you might get interference from radio devices around u like your phone with the wireless ones

The wired one has batteries too though..??

A40s are perfect. I was going to get it, but my friends suggested I upgrade from the PX21s to the PX5s. PX5s are around the same price of the A40s, but in my opinion, the PX5s look better.

Get the wired one if you don't want to continue replacing batteries, there's an option to have rechargeable batteries with the wireless Astros, but you have to pay for it.

The A40's are great. Honestly when it comes to headset's it's either go big or go home for me. Never buying a $100 headset ever. They either have terrible crackling, poor quality, or just look ugly and are made from cheap plastic. Although I don't have these earphones I can say these are a great buy.

They look like they do have some weight to them, by that I mean they are not cheap. And the band that runs over your head looks thick, not some flimsy piece of plastic or something.

If money isn't an issue, they are a great buy.
