Post: Need some football suggestions/help

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Alright so I'm 15, going on to the 10th grade in August. And I played on the freshman team as CB last year...sadly going 0-7 to finish the season...I never got burned or caught on so I feel somewhat accomplished.

I had a couple of my friends tell me that I looked like a runningback, considering my height (5"6) and my questionable speed (last time I check a year and a half ago, I ran a 5.6 in the 50-yard dash) ----> But I know I've gotten faster.

Right now, all the coaches have done is lined us up, having me at 6th string receiver, which is DEFINITELY not where I wanna be right now...but they also said that my spot on the depth chart is subject to change on how well I show my skills on the field.

I was wondering how I could get my speed down to about maybe a 4.6 by August?

And how to be a successful RB?

How I could possibly get the coaches to put me at RB?

And how to stand out?

Also, since I'd really like to play both sides of the ball, which defensive position would better fit me other than corner?

any help is greatly appreciated. Magglass1

Played safety years ago, but the best way to increase your speed is to build muscle in your legs. Best way there is leg weights and jog, or bike. Also be sure not to ignore the upper body as well, use some weights there. If you do this you will build up your speed when you take the weights off.

As of now, I am running hills and pulling sleds , etc with my trainer. Hills are great for improving speed, also if you develop a strong core that makes you faster. Jump rope, box jumps, bounding, are some few techniques that could help you. But the main point I must get across to you is that you have to be committed. I will be attending the nftc in California on may 18. Get yourself recognized by going to camps. Hard work paysoff; Just chasing the dream is not enough, you have to catch it.

Running a 4.6 in a 50 yard dash is unbelievably fast. If you get to running 4.6 in a 50 yard dash youre playing the wrong sport. You should be running track if you could run a 4.6. Youd be like a olympic runner if you could run a 4.6

Read correctly he says he ran a 5.6 not a 4.6. Your post was not beneficial what so ever.

when I played football I was a LB on defense and on offense I was a right tackle.

But back to the question, get some ankle weights. Wear them whenever you can. When you you train, workout, maybe even around the house etc. Because after a while when you take them off and run you legs will feel sooo lite and you will be a lot faster.

Train with a weight vest do cardio and leg workouts as well (squats leg press ect) yourin high school they should have this in the weight room. After using the vest to train when you take it off you will be more efficient in all areas of moving.

Your friends may be right I played corner and tailback for a state championship team. Below is the championship highlights.

hes not talking about a 4.6 in the 50 yard dash you dumb fuck. thats impossible to run a 4.6 50 yd dash . He was estimating a 5.6 would be a 4.6 in the 40 yrd dash if he got it to that. You have no common sense. Try and give advice instead of posting irrelevant things. You sir are a retard.

yes it is impossible for 50 at the high school level our best wide receiver ran a 4.5 and i ran a 4.7 in the 40 . Boyle county had a guy around 4.2 we couldn't really catch too good.
