Diddy's son, Justin Combs, accepted a $54,000 athletic scholarship from UCLA, including himself as one of about 285 students to earn a full ride to the university this year (he was also offered scholarships at Illinois, Virginia and Wyoming). This has stirred up a lot of talk among critics because of Justin's financial status. His dad is currently worth $550 million and Justin reportedly drives a Maybach car worth about $360,000. Due to these factors, many believe he shouldn't have took the scholarship simply because someone less fortunate could have really used it.

On the other hand, many people do believe he's entitled to it because all his work and dedication shouldn't be shunned merely because of daddy's checking account. Justin averaged a 3.75 GPA and his talents at the defensive back position didn't just magically appear, he worked at his game for countless hours.

My question to you is, should he have took it or not?

My Thoughts
In my opinion, he had every right to take it.

I think this is being blown out of proportion simply because of P. Diddy's bank account. As long as you or your family can afford complete tuition for a college, I don't think it matters if you have $500,000 or $550 million. There have been hundreds of rich kids in college that get scholarships.

Scholarships are used to reward those that actually put in time, effort, work and devotion at what do they on the field and in their studies as a sign of recognition. Something people need to remember is that money used for merit-based athletic scholarships does not come from state funds and is not drawn from the same pool as need-based scholarships, so it does not reduce the money set aside for needy students.

Well if he worked for it he is entitled to it, his accomplishments should not be looked down on because of how much money his father has. I believe he was right to take it.
