(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); How long can they trace back to? I'm scheduled for an interview for Walgreens tomorrow at 10:30 am EST. If I am hired, I need to take a drug test. Standard urine test. I've smoked weed before. A few times. The last time I did it was... I don't even remember, but maybe like a month or a month and a half ago. Can a urine test trace this?

Also, any tips on interviews would be nice. I've never had an interview before.

Regarding the drug test, keep some things in mind...

A urine test can be accurate up to a month long. That means you can be clean before that. If you smoke a gram a day your entire life, it can cause you to fail up to around 30 days after the last day you smoked. If you smoke a gram every couple days for just a month, then stop, you'll fail until around 2 weeks after you've stopped. If you take 2 or 3 hits one time, you should be good sooner, as in 3 to 4 days, but no guarantee. Things that can affect this include being overweight.

A hair test can vary heavily. Keep in mind they are more expensive, and you probably won't receive one unless most likely. These normally show drug use up to 90 days, when taken from your hair on your head. They can also sample body hair, which can last up to an entire year.

Anyways, you should be good, just drink some water. If it comes back positive, ask for a retest, saying you've never done a drug in your life very convincingly. With this extra few days you should be good to go. If they say no, then they say no. It can't be held against you in future employment. Just drink some water.

Regarding the interview, there's a few thinks to keep in mind.

1. Eye contact. - Assuming you're applying as a cashier, you will interact with everyone making a purchase. Make your employer know you will be someone who will make your customer's buying experience the best it can be.

2. Hand Movement. - Once again, assuming you're applying as a cashier/bagger, you have to be able to talk and use your hands. Small hand gestures while talking subliminally will show your new boss that you can use your hands and talk.

3. Dress for success. - kind of cliche, but pretty damn legit. Who would you hire to a job? some punk with a green Mohawk or a kid with a nice button down shirt and tie? get a nice clean haircut tonight, make sure you've shaved recently if you're on of those kids who gets a nasty ass half beard every other day.

4. Ask a question. - most of the time, at the end of a interview, the employer will ask something along the lines of "Do you have any questions?" Most people shrug this off with a simple no, and that ends the interview. A smart trick is to ask a question. It shows you think on your feet and you're genuinely interested.

Most of those I've found through advice columns and such about landing a job, but basically, you've got to be interactive. Have some charisma.

Things you should ask include who would I report to, what hours will I work, ect. It's pretty simple. At this level of employment, he'd be impressed you asked. Once you get up higher, into careers that require a degree, one strategy is to ask what reason would you have not to hire me? That shows you think on your feet, and if there is an issue with your resume and how you come across, they'll tell you. You also would have a chance to discuss that reason with the employer, and possibly reason with him.

Marijuana is in your system for atleast 8 weeks for a regular user (3 Tokes a day) so if you have did that you have a slight chance of failing its not 100% but its possible.
But for a non-abuser (1 Toke every so day) would be around 2-3 weeks.

Normal User: (Urine 2 - 5 weeks) (Blood Can be traced from 3 weeks to 4 months)
Non-Abuser (Urine 1 - 3 weeks) (Blood Can be trace from 2 weeks to 6 weeks)

I've been in a couple of interviews applying for summer jobs 1 year ago.

- Appropriate attire
- Always bring 1-2 extra copy of your resume. Usually there will be 1-2 people in the room doing the interview and its best for both of them to see it.
- When you walk in the room do a firm handshake and say " Hi I'm [ Your name ] "
- While your sitting down, Sit up straight.

If you've only done it a few times and the last time was over a month ago you'll be perfectly fine.
