(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I thought it might be fun to run an auction where you can bid on changing a staff members name and they would have to use it for a week.
It might create a little value to Vbux, if it catches on, and be fun to see some of the names that are thought up

The way its going to work is we will accept bids for a name suggestion(within reason) No cursing, offensive, an existing members name or overly personal attacks No

You post in here what your name suggestion is along with what you are willing to pay to have the staff member use it for a week.
You must have 100 posts to participate
Any posts that do not have a higher bid amount with a suggested name, will be deleted and you will not be eligible for the month end raffle :bat: (question posts are permitted)

You can create your own staff name or outbid someone else to use their suggestion.
Each suggestion has to be 5K vbux bid higher than the previous bidders and the each higher bid can be no more than 50K above the previous one, so more members can get into the bidding and be eligible for the monthly drawing.
An important thing to remember is that the Staff member can decide to bid as well, and keep their own name or pick one they like in the thread

Staff members will take turns each week on who is going to run with the high bidders name and cannot change it, once it is accepted and paid for. At the end of the month, anyone that posted in the thread with a legitimate bid will be entered in a raffle to win that months proceeds ( the total of all the winning bids)

I will be going first, so you are only to bid on names for me, any other staff name suggestions will be deleted.
If people are going to troll the thread, make suggestions without a bid, or suggest names for other staff members, they will be banned from the thread and be ineligible to participate in future staff name auctions.

The bidding will run for 24 hours, at the end of the period, the high bidder's name will be announced, the name accepted by the staff member, The bidder will donate his bid amount to JimE( who will keep track of the total Donations for the monthly raffle ) and the staff member will go with the name for one week.
If the high bidder does not pay, the next highest bidder will be selected.

If this catches on we may run a similar one for a signature line and user title Awesome face

This is meant to be fun, have some community laughs, and not get mean spirited.....

I hope this can become a fun weekly event and the staff and members can have a good time without getting too personal..

So, if you are interested, Go ahead and put in a Bid and name suggestion for me, you have till Tomorrow night at 11pm to get your bids and Name suggestions in. :ha!:

Answer is ONE WEEK Awesome face

I'll be sure to incorporate bold print, random colors, emoticons, and varied structure when drafting agreements and contracts to hide details. Awesome face

People are paying way too much for a 1 week change though... 750k? 300k? Why....

Whatever the market will bear, but it's new now and I expect the bidding to become more normal in the following weeks as new staff comes up for their name change bid period.
I considered doing a list of staff that has agreed to do it, and even listing the order. but don't want that to influence the bidding.

I may also limit the amount a bid can be increased, so a large bid does not drive out all the other bidders.

This is still a work in progress..

Trying to talk economics with me? :p

I would suggest all bids start at a constant 10k, then members can bid at 1-5k incriments.
