In a little bit of news that shocked myself and my brother, Anderson Cooper, famous for his broadcasting career with multiple television stations, has revealed that he is gay.
Reporter Andrew Sullivan, who is working on a story about the the impact of gay celebrities on society, contacted Anderson on his views of the subject. What the TheDailyBeast writer was not expecting, was Anderson to reveal his homosexuality.
Cooper states:
"There continue to be far too many incidences of bullying of young people, as well as discrimination and violence against people of all ages, based on their sexual orientation, and I believe there is value in making clear where I stand,"
"The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud"
This is personally shocking to me, as I would have never pinned Anderson as gay.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Would you have ever suspected he was gay? Now knowing he is, how does it affect your opinion of him and his reporting career?
I understand that posting this story will most likely open a can of gay hating worms. Regardless, I have posted it in order to determine the MATURE and WELL FORMED opinions of other members here. Flame if you want, but it will be ignored by myself.
