Alright so in this thread I will be talking about my time being here on NextGenUpdate. So where should I start? I'll start when I joined. Well it started back on my Ps3 days when Cod4 and WaW were huge. I was playing search and destroy on Cod4 when all of sudden I got killed by somebody flying around in the sky. I was like what the fuck how is he doing that so I can't remember how but I ended up somewhere on the internet was either youtube or google but I tried to type in a search that would go along with it and I believe I found Ngu. So I signed up and got the method and to tell you the truth if anybody remember how easy it was to the the ufo hack thing on Cod4 with the usb it literally took me like an hour with a couple tries to figure it out believe it or not lol. I then found you could do even more hacks with the usb offline on cod4 and do even more fun mods with it and stuff. But then finally my Ps3 blue ray laser took and shit and didn't get it fixed till like 6 months later. And that is the time when I fully started my ngu active duty I would call it lol.

So I started getting active in the community and had some stupid bumps in the road but who doesn't? I think I got infracted for rep boosting 1 time and a couple other stupid shit but I am an example on why people deserve 2nd chances and should not be looked down on the stupid shit they did. No 3rd chances etc.. just a 2nd chance and if you fuck up after that you're done. I started to get to know more and more people etc.. Played games on the consoles and got talking to outie on aim etc.. when he was able to get on started to get to know each other and seeing from his point of view I really cared about ngu and boom I became staff in June of 2010 and becoming more with the community etc.. and working my way up through the ranks and finally becoming admin in oct. of 2011.

Alright so that was basically my journey story or something along those lines but now we get down into the nitty gritty. It feels as if back then people actually cared on the site and now hardly anybody does. Like a select few and others are like fuck it. Back then it feels like there was a push that made people want to do more and more because everybody cared and worked together. Back in my time mod stats actually mattered and you would not even have to warn anybody for being to low. shit I think everybody was pretty high in the ranks and actually had mod stats wars to see who was #1 etc but was a friendly competition in the end. This is when all staff got along and there was something like idk what I would call let's call it a "PUSH" that made everybody want to put in some effort into the whole site. there was even a push to mod the forums even when you had enough and you knew you had enough stats or whatever to be fine for the next months. There was so many caring people I could not even believe it and we all worked together on projects and shit and everybody got along. Nobody went off and did there own little secret shit bla bla and got everybody into it so everybody felt together and wanted to do more. shiver, gobble, enzo, rjive, paul, battman, jim, shit the list could go on with ex-staff on people that cared and wanted to help even more but released it was starting to get to why and I doing this anymore since nobody else really started to not care?

I remember when shiver deleted himself or should I say AlphaMudafuckinDenver (holy shit first smiley used in this thread dayumm) but yeah people thought this was a joke as it was by April fools days but I kid you not he came into the modbox like a G and posted this song right here: and deleted himself like a bad ass. Now I don't know about you but that shows you how bad it go at that point of time and how much it took to wake up the owner himself. Shit I would call that the ngu melt down of "2011". A couple more staff members left I believe and shit just got bad. f33l made a thread and even people posted on outie's wall with like 10 scrolls of visitor messages or whatever you would call it. It was all just bad togehter but lucly things started to get ok again but you know you know...

It just feels like there is so many wanna be trolls here and just fuck shit up for the rest of us. Or to many I don't give a fuck people. Back in the day you were respect even on staff you were respect I think it's kinda all a big joke now. Some staff joining along in the bullshit that goes on and then says why is this place like this now. Well hurr durr I wonder why. If you got staff acting like a joke then the members see it and it spreads almost lets call it like a virus. Oh he can do that then I can do that. You gotta think like 80% of this community is teenagers including myself but you got most of then that will be copy cats and do the same shit you do. Then you go ban people/guest them whatever and people start rebeloins over that and shit goes down etc... rep was fuckin awesome before it got changed. It almost made you feel like a bad ass to have respect etc.. since nobody negs you you could fuck up their shit if they do etc.. or help them out a shit load with rep bla bla.

Man I know I will be forgetting a shit load in this thread but I'm trying to think about all the stuff I know well the big stuff I guess to put in this thread but if I have more stuff to add I might just make another thread or edit this but this is getting kinda long I guess lol. But yeah back then it felt like there was push/urge to do more and everybody was just happy to work together and 1 whole team unlike now I would call it. I mean I have had my own thoughts on making my own site and shit etc after I retired and shit but now that I think about it is why? I already belong to this big community why not stay here and try to make shit better or something? Anything helps I guess but still. Gonnna need alot of duck tape here I guess. But I shall stay here and fix things etc.. You get my flow. :p

We need to do something to put this place back in over drive or should I say poppin like it was back in the days that it was good. It happened before and I'm pretty sure if everybody puts their minds to it then we all could make it happen. I mean shit we can even put a video up on the ngs channel without it getting tons of dislikes? Some bs I call that. We all have to work together to make shit happen and I can see that happening. So I had a couple ideas that came to mine and shit so here it goes.

We need to spread stuff out. And I mean go big or go home! Let's do some new domains that focus on other forums Idea different things.. Maybe like a computer discussion site etc... but all the domains would always bring linked back to the main site which is here ngu. I mean we are the next gen updates site arn't we? the next big generating or all updates etc.. We gotta expand stuff and get new people and who knows maybe if they join one site they will come to ngu and spark a lil gaming in them or something. Try something new. When there is no glitches hacks or something then you gotta move on with something else but still keep it. You never know until you try it right? Life is like a box a chocolates you never know what you gonna get right?

Well I can't believe I just typed all this up lol this is crazy (and I just met you can I get ya numba?) :p anyways if you guys want to get into a movement to make this place better again etc... then hell yeah let's goooo! any ideas post below. remember 1 idea can go far.

I probably forgot a couple things but like I said above maybe 2nd part or something but for now that is it and I hope you guys read it even though how fuckin long this is but yup.

Just read it. I'll start off by saying I completely understand how you feel about the old times, I was there with you bro. You're spot on with people actually willing to help the site, help individuals, and help the entire community. I mean, hell, if the members that got this shit rolling were still here and not banned, guested, or just completely have given up on the site, then we wouldn't be as in deep of shit as we are now. But to be honest with you, I don't really think that theres much hope as for the fixing and improvement. Don't get me wrong, I completely appreciate your moral, confidence, and belief, but I just think that there your project is honestly a lost cause. I mean, look, how many of the guys that you came up with over the years are still here? Those were the guys that could make the difference, now we got shitheads in here for their personal gain and triumph. My best advice (though extreme) would be to fucking cut down on staff, maybe like a user vote to who gets shit done and who just fucks around and doesnt do their responsibilities, you can agree with me that the staff have really shit the bed on their positions and their attitudes, i guess you could say, toward the site. You made some very valid points, i can say i agree with most but not all. But then again, my opinions don't mean shit to anyone so i guess what i'm saying is just a thread filler, but hey, been here this long, so why not right?

I totally agree with you and TBR. This site has definately changed, and not for the better. We need to take action and change a lot, so the site is a better place.

I like your idea when you say we should have another site that links back here, but is a different topic. Something along the lines of a computer forum would be a good idea and might bring in a lot of members.

Here's some this that I think need to be fixed:

1. Members are posting low quality threads and posts. I know that we're trying to increase forum activity, but this shit has gotta stop. Maybe the staff team should start to put out warnings or just trash the threads and delete the posts. That's what happened back in the good ol' days.

2. Staff definately needs to change. The team is alright but they need to be serious about their jobs and work as a team. I see mods banning each other all the time and being immature. This shit needs to stop, you're setting a bad example.

3. The videos on the NGS channel are, lets say, not all that good. We need more uploads onto the channel and they HAVE TO BE GOOD! Anyone can film a game and upload it, but trust me, it won't gain much popularity. Wasn't the point of the channel to promote the site and gain a few members? The videos seem like a turnoff.

4. Forum activity. We all know this is lacking a lot. We need to increase this because if there isn't that much forum activity, then people may think the site is dying or is dead.

5. Members of this community need to band together and form as one. We have to be friendly towards one another and stop trolling and flaming. Yeah sure, it's fun sometimes and should be done occasionally, but not all the time.

6. Staff need to listen to members ideas. I know this is been happening lately :y: Also think for your selves staff members, chip in. We need to make a change to this place.

This is just what I think, please discuss.

Gotta respect this. It's time someone with a little respect got the balls to make a statement. Because I agree that this community isn't what it used to be. Hell I've only been here a year and it's gone down hill in that time. This community means a lot to me. Sure it's just a forum on the net, but it's my place. This is the one forum I'm at all active in. When I log on my computer, my tabs up on Firefox are Facebook and NGU. I have a life. A job. Going to college. I have a girl. But I come back here and check up on shit because this is a good community. It's time we make it better.

I like it here even though I apparently joined when "ngu started to change for the worse". So I guess I have nothing to compare it to. :/

Also, I think mods should delete any low-quality or pointless threads.. I know that most of them aren't deleted because ngu needs more activity, but quality is more important than quantity in my opinion. And I think more members will stay active with higher-quality threads.

If you like it now, you would have loved it back in the day. I didn't post much back then because I thought everyone was really cool on this site and I didn't want to make a fool out of my newfag self. This site was amazing. It all seemed to get bad MW2 Prestige Hacks and especially during the release of GeoHotz's CFW. When I saw this site for the first time. I was like, "Wow." I loved just reading the content and seeing the place thrive!

I agree with everything you said there. You should send your suggestions to an admin or something.

I have never had a problem with you Reaper when i have asked something you always helped me and to future staff members i hope you help people on ngu not troll them . Also Reaper you were 1 of the best staff members on here could always count on you to help any1 at any time. Nice post and good look to future staff members hopefully we can higher new staff as good as what Reaper was and Reaper you will be missed as a staff member but will never disrespect him because he did a lot.
