Post: Prolonged Detention

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Prolonged detention was an idea by president bush but was never passed. It continued on through obamas administration and it finally came out in a full effect in the nation defense act. Basically the idea is to allow military personal to arrest or assassinate a person without breaking the law but because of suspicion. Personally I am completely against this. You could have never committed a crime and be sent to jail, the best part about that is that you can be sent to jail indefinitely. Personally I don't believe in conspiracy bullshit and all that but this is an actual act. It's real and that's just plain scary. Now I'm fine with spying even though that violates rights. I mean if you arn't doing anything wrong you shouldn't care.. but this has taken it over the line. Arrested, or assassinated indefinitely with suspicion by the military.

What are your thoughts on this? yes or no?

This was passed sometime late 2011, or early 2012 I believe.

NDAA was signed into law December 31, 2011.

Wasn't it temporarily blocked by a New York judge earlier this year?

Tranquility.
I'm in no way for this to be passed or to be denied. But read this:

"The National Defense Authorization Act would give the military authority to hold a suspect indefinitely in detention camps without a trial or an arrest on grounds of being a potential threat to the nation. Reasonable suspicion by the “powers that be” is all that's needed to get one detained, until the authorities no longer consider the detainee a threat."

Until the authorities no longer consider the detainee a threat.

It's not like they are going to lock you up and they forget about you forever.

Take a look at You must login or register to view this content. as well. This wasn't a bill that would be passed to arrest just anyone. This was mainly for fighting against Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations. So mainly all this takes place in Guantanamo Bay where most of these people are sent.
