I'v never watched it, well I'v watched one once but that was all :/

I want to start getting into it. I'v been told its a good way to understand Japanese too (along with learning Japanese from different ways)

Could anyone point me in the right place to watch Anime? If so what one's should I watch?

It really isn't unless you want to learn to speak like a retard, if you're still interests in watching some though, Black Lagoon, Darker than Black and Cowboy Bebop are all great and good for beginners because they have almost no Kawaii Uguu~ overly cute shit that scares people away.

Tough decision; it seems I've seen enough anime to last a lifetime. But there are a few series that have earned my recognition for their excellent demonstration of character development, thought-provoking storytelling, influential and emotionally evocative scenes, and memorable setting. those few include:

-Bleach (without the terribly drab and annoying filler arcs and episodes)
-Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood
-Naruto/Shippuden (Ignoring the terrible story-pacing and filler episodes)
-Cowboy Bebop (No explanation needed, one of the most masterful and stylish displays of character development in Anime)
-Rurouni Kenshin: Truth & Betrayal (Simply beautiful, and one of the most insightful and touching animated works to date)

Will end my list there for now. If I listed all of the other memorable Animes I've seen, it would defeat the purpose of this being a list of my favorites.

I strongly recommend Animefreak.tv; it contains a bewildering library of some of the best Animes to ever grace television. (In their entirety, too.) And be sure to watch the English Subbed versions over the English Dubbed options. What's the difference? I'd compare it to listening to an unemotional, monotone reader reciting a Shakespeare play; the voice acting alone creates a vastly different experience. On top of that, the English Dubbed versions are often very poorly done. *cough* Bleach *cough*

I friend of mine who can speak Japanese pretty well told me that. Only to pick up a few words or what have you. Not Happy or Sad

Thank you for the list though, I'll check them out.

I love all the movies by Hayao Myazaki. Including but not limited to, Spirited Away, Laputa: Castle in The Sky, Ponyo, and Howls Moving Castle. They are my favorite anime movies of all time. Absolutely amazing.

For the doubters in this thread, yes Pokmon is anime and above, yes spirited away us also anime. If it came from Japan and is animated, it's anime for instance look at Panty and Stickings with Garterbelt, that looks like a western cartoon but is still anime.

Just because it comes from Japan doesn't make it anime...
