The closest I've been to Canada was the US side of Niagra Falls, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

I live like 100 miles away from the Canadian border XD. I've never really taken the time to go up there though. It seems alright, but I hate hockey and don't eat pancakes XD so they're not really helping me out. But yeah that is great that they have universal health care.
