this i dissagree on. In mainstream press, the word “hacker” is often used to refer to a malicious security cracker. The RFC 1392: Internet Users’ Glossary defines “hacker” as: a person who delights in having an intimate understanding of the internal workings of a system, computers and computer networks in particular. The term is often misused in a pejorative context, where “cracker” would be the correct term. hacking is taking something and changing it to make it benefit everyone. the people who make the jailbrakes for iphones is a good example. not trying to shoot you down, it just anoys me when someone doesnt use the proper definition of hacking. they usually use hacker when it really should be cracker.

Hmm pretty true. However i define "Hackers" on consoles or hacking games as modders, Not hackers. Modders is a more appropriate term, You dont want to be defined as a hacker.

Well it's obviously me :dumb:

But really it's hard to tell because no one person is clearly the best. In my opinion, the most well known hacker is George Hotz.

It depends really i would not class people like hunter128,theunkown as hackers because they have only hacked a game thats not really anything compared to lulzsec, geohot, anonymous, gitbrew,KaKaRoToKS. People seem to get hacking and modding mixed up.

Hells
I'm Back...
Geo Hotz would be the most "famous" hacker in media circles

Why you idiots are posting Hunter and TheUnkn0wn I have no idea, I'm not knocking their abilitys, espicially TheUnkn0wn BUT when was the last time they were on primetime news for anything hacking related?

Now if the question was the BEST hacker..... none of the 3 mentioned in MY opinion
