this i dissagree on. In mainstream press, the word “hacker” is often used to refer to a malicious security cracker. The RFC 1392: Internet Users’ Glossary defines “hacker” as: a person who delights in having an intimate understanding of the internal workings of a system, computers and computer networks in particular. The term is often misused in a pejorative context, where “cracker” would be the correct term. hacking is taking something and changing it to make it benefit everyone. the people who make the jailbrakes for iphones is a good example. not trying to shoot you down, it just anoys me when someone doesnt use the proper definition of hacking. they usually use hacker when it really should be cracker.
