Post: How to increase your chances of becoming a moderator.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Leadership Is Influence

A position does not make you a leader. Influence makes you a leader.

The fact is that, a moderator, has a unique gift called leadership. If you have the gift, your chances will highly increase your chances of being a moderator. This does not mean being mean to people, this means directing people. You must have certain maturity to be a leader...

The Trust Factor

A factor in good leadership is to determine whether people are following you, or simply obeying you. This does not mean bum licking up to other moderators and staff to help you get the moderator status.

How do you establish trust and confidence?

If people find a lack of confidence or ability, they will not respect you as a leader. It’s important to understand that the people make you a leader, so respect the people and they will respect you.

Responsibility

Moderators are directly responsible for their actions and the community they are moderating in.

When problems arise, the moderator should have the ability to calm the people, and if not charge them with the appropriate demerit. When situations go out of control, leadership is shown by how the leader handles it.

Good Moderators Make Tough Decisions

As moderators, you will be faced with hard choices. Should you ban someone, give them an infraction, or give them a warning, that's in your own judgment.

Conclusion

Being a moderator means work, and not only power. If you want to be a moderator just because of a different color and power, than I assure you, you won't get the job. If you want to be a moderator because you truly feel like you can help the community than you will have a great chance of moderating.

I made this guide by myself, taking other guides as tips. Hope this helps.

Yes I know I'm not a moderator, hence the word increase not 100% chance of becoming a mod.
+rep is always helpful :p

I understand that, im not old enough to donate so i simply can't. It shouldn't make any difference though, some people are unable to donate and are good posters.

Not that i am, i try but i could name a number of people who contribute alot to the site who are not premium members/moderators.

Why does being premium have any baring on whether you can be a moderator or not? Surly you would choose someone who is best for the job over someone who can buy their way to the top?

The money that people donate go to the site. Yes if a non-premium with high quality of posts applies im 85%sure he won't be denied because he never donated.

Well again, it's the internet, this is a web site to have fun. If you want to donate, that's all good, if you can't and you really want to become mod, PM the admins, and they can maybe work it out.
Plus, mods should be mature, I'm not saying you are immature, it's just when you said you are not old enough to donate, it could mean your age is over your mind, therefore acting immature.
Also: You CAN mail money to Outsider and get premium, that's what I did. So nothing is off limits when coming to donating really. Just think outside of the box.

It's simple, if you want to become a moderator you need to post updates on consoles, report posts and stay active. Easier said then done though.
