(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I recently heard through the grape vine that Neil Armstrong died today. So I looked it up and sure enough he did.

Here's a little excerpt from Google.

There are plenty of news articles out there so I shouldn't really have to explain it to much.

He was a true hero. First man on the moon, I can't imagine how hard it is to decide as the first person to go to the moon. We will never forget him. May he rest in peace, as a hero greatly missed. :y:

He was a national hero because at the time the whole "Space Race" ordeal was going on. The goal was to send a man into space, and land a man on the moon. It was pretty much the United States against the Soviet Union. Of course with the ingenuity of the US we beat the communist. Of course we had some help from the capture Nazi Scientist that were captured after WWII. The Space Race also started the Arms Race which evolved into the Cold War, which is a totally different topic. :y:

Not all Hero's save anyone. In a way, he did save people. He let the space idea expand, and now we know how to survive in space.
