I used to have a HDPVR but it was getting very complicated with all the wires and it was just taking too much space. So recently I heard about this product called an Elgato Game Capture and I had to try it out.

PROS:

1. Records Full 1080p
2. Very Small and only 2-3 wires
3. In-software video editing
4. Apple TV and iPads can be connected
5. Very Sexy Name

CONS:

1. A Good Computer/Laptop

Elgato is very easy to setup and very useful, let's say you forgot to click record and then got an insane clip. Don't worry with an Elgato you can get your footage back without recording, that is one great reason why you should choose an Elgato over other capture cards.

Elgato also allows you to tag your videos so when its uploaded to YouTube you don't have problems, it also has a feature which shares your video to multiple social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Here is the screenshot of their software

So if you are having a hard-time between choosing a capture card, i would say Elgato is a way to go. It's about the same price as HDPVR, much easier to setup, a better editing and video capturing software, not excessive wires and a small device which can be carried in your pocket.

They sent me two devices, so I will be doing a giveaway for you guys soon. Enjoy Gobble

If I recall correctly there's a system in place on the PS3 that won't let you record using HDMI.

yes for the ps3 slim you can only record to 1080i but still possible with the hdmi wire but xbox you can record full 1080p because it is illegal or something like that to record 1080p for ps3 slim

The bad part about it is that you can't play in HDMI on PS3. I can't composite quality my God. Get the HD PVR 2! About $20-30 cheaper!
