I remember seeing my dad when he got back from Iraq. He was deployed a year and it broke me. I love my dad. He was my hero and best friend. And then he was gone. I was 10 at the time when he got back and all I remember was my mom saying something about "Lets go to Memphis," for some odd reason to my sister and I. We got to the airport and walked in. As a kid, I never was told when a family member would come down to visit. My parents would always try to surprise me and I thought at first that this was one of those times. We got to the airport really late at night and I'll be honest, the airport in Memphis is ALWAYS crowded. This place had one maybe two people there. It was crazy weird.

We walked around for a while and after about 5 minutes of walking, we turned a corner and saw a man in his uniform. At first we didn't know who it was. Mainly because it wasn't what we expected and my dad changed in the year he was gone. All of a sudden it clicked! I think my mom knew what happened because soon as it started to make sense to me, she said, "Go get him!" and my sister and I ran to him screaming "Daddy!!!" and he turned around and saw us and he embraced us in the best hug I have ever gotten. After that, the tears started rolling from everyone.

This is how it happened for me. Sorry if it seems poorly written. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. Thanks for reading, guys. I am currently 16 years old.

Thanks for sharing those videos. It's such a good moment and brings tears to your eyes to see all those people and how much they love and missed each other. Even the dogs. :p
