You don't need any education to become a cop. You just need to pass a test asking you which side of the law you're on.
This isn't news to me, but it got me thinking. Maybe if there were higher requirements for becoming a police officer there would be less abuse and misuse of power and authority.

Fick die Polizei.

You have a valid point here. I was half way through typing a reply saying something along the lines of "But you don't trust a cop with a possibly lethal procedure or prescribing a possibly lethal drug to someone, doctors do so much more," when I realized the complete idiocy of that statement. We basically give these cops a gun, which can kill and injure.

My point was that one takes lives while the other tries to save lives. Cops are basically given the right to go out and kill which OFWGKT touched on. I think people who are given the power and authority to kill need to be much more qualified than they currently are. Obviously it takes no sense at all to kill another person while doctors require an inordinate amount of knowledge to do what they do. However, when the government grants someone the right and means to take another's life I believe that person should be required to undergo at least four years of schooling in a subject such as psychology. That's just my opinion though.

How hard is it to pull people over and write tickets. really. Does a cop need a masters degree in English to be able to write a ticket or 100s of hours of racing experience to pull people over?

No but I'm sure people would feel better if a person in-forcing laws, actually knew them. Smile

Cops do know the laws. Most have egos that make them assume the public doesn't and too much pride to admit when they're wrong.
