Im really excited to see UFC 103! There are some pretty big names headlining this event so I know it is going to be a brawl to remember. Lets jump right into the list of fighters that will be throwing down on September 19th at the America Airlines Event Center in Dallas Texas.

FIGHTER ANALYSIS
Rich Franklin

Some would say Rich Franklin is a UFC legend. He has been fighting for quit some time. He has put to rest some of the best in the game. Some of his victims include, Wanderlei Silva, Matt Hamill, Ken Shamrock, Nate Quarry to name a few. The four losses he has taken come from elite title holders such as Anderson Silva (twice), Lyoto Machida, Dan Henderson.

FIGHTER ANALYSIS
Vitor Belfort

Ive been watching MMA for a long time and its been a while since I heard the name Vitor Belfort mentioned in any big named event. Vitor is a fighter from the old school UFC (no holds barred stuff). I remeber one fight he had against Wanderlei Silva back in 1998 and I was shocked to see the hand speed and strength he had as he KO'd "The Axe Murderer" Silva in about 20 secs. After that the UFC changed hands and so did Belfort, heading to Japan to fight in "Pride Fighting Championship". Ater that he kinda fell off the map. He tends to choke during big name fights. Well this is his time for redemption.

FIGHTER ANALYSIS
Mirko Filipovic

Mirko "Cro-Cop" Filipović came to stardom from "Pride Fighting Championship" and when UFC bought out Pride along came Mirko. His weapon of choice is his famous left high kick. If that kick lands...the medics will awaken you at the closest hospital. That being said everybody watches out for it. He has lost two of his four fights with the UFC so its been a bit rough for him.

FIGHTER ANALYSIS
Junior dos Santos

Junior dos Santos is a great up-&-comer from Brazil (no surprise there). He is the current Brazil Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion with a 18-0 record. He asured his spot in the UFC when he got "Knockout of the Night" against another Brazillion star in Fabricio Werdum. I watched that fight and I think I actually felt that uppercut through my TV.

I wish I could go watch this in person because its only about 3 hours from where I live but I cant (work sucks!). I will be watching it on PPV though. Im thinking this event has the makings to be a real headliner. I will be updating this thread before and after the event to share the outcome of these fighters fate.

Here's to Loonyology!
Oh boy, this is guna be massive. A big fan of UFC and there's some tasty fighters on the cards there.

I personally am watching out for Dos Santos, i hear his name mentioned quite a bit by other fighters, saying he could be the kid to watch, and with a kickboxing record of 18-0 against heavyweight opponents, he is showing his promise. I think this could mean the demise of 'Cro Cop' if he fails to land his trusted high kick and send Santos to sleep!!

I'm also keeping my eyes on Griffin vs. Franca. Both are little explosive guys and i can see this fight being a real good brawl......Franca is the more seasoned fighter in terms of fights, but i would hedge my bets on Griffin on this one. I've seen him fight before and i like his style and swagger.

And as for the Main Event, i am impressed by Rich Franklin's conditioning of late, he is looking very healthy and fit. I love watching his fights, the guy has pure grit and determination and has skills too. I've seen him have his nose crushed accross his face, and go on to absolutely batter the shit out the guy! I don't know too much about Belfort, although i am going to check him out to see what he's like. Put it this way, if he's got a fight with Franklin, he's going to be no pushover.....

My picks

Belfort-If it goes past halfway through the second I'm switching this but Belfort posseses all the skills that tend to give Frankilin trouble, has a tendency to gas out though

Dos Santos- going to be a highlight knockout whichever way it goes but I'm going to give it to the youngster in this case, he is like crocop 2.0

Koshcheck-Better wrestling, trigg will show ring/cage rust

Griffin- Think he will just be too strong for Franca. Will probably take him down and gnp him. As long as he avoids submissions and pushes the pace he should be fine

Drwal- Mcfredries is too inconsistent. I dont know much about this guys chin but if he can take it to a decision he gets the unanimous decision

Book Em Dano. Those are my bets anyway.
25$ parlay to win $282 I can live with that
Bet another $25 on a gimme fight so I break even if I lose Smile

I have heard the same thing about Dos Santos being a younger version of Cro-Cop! I agree the fight to watch will come from the Griffin vs Franca. The fights Ive seen of Griffin have impressed the hell out of me! That kid is a beast. As for Trigg, I believe his time has come and went years ago.

Thanks WHITEWIDOW, I watched it live on xme along with the mayweather vs marquez bout and I just wasn't feeling it for 103, there were some good fights but I don't know the vito and franklin fight was good but just didn't long enough or have enough action to it, I know the people like to see big quick knockouts but those are just no fun for me.Crocop fight wasn't that great, guess he got his eye socket busted or something but I was hoping he would have won that.

The Mayweather vs Marquez fight was rather boring as well it went all 12 rounds...mayweather needs an attitude adjustment he was being a dick. I would have liked to see him take a nap but Marquez was just too slow compared to mayweather but he's got a good strong head. I can't wait to see Manny Pacquiao put him to sleep.
