(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I turn 21 next Feburary. My local and favorite gun store owners (former Marines, who became Cops and retired, extremely friendly people) essentially sold me on my first pistol purchase.

I'm getting my CCC permit here soon (I can take it underage with the store owners, as they are instructors, they offered me an extremely reduced price on the class, and they will hold my permit until I turn 21).

For my holster, I'm going to You must login or register to view this content. (as suggested by FPSRussia) for my holster, and I am going to also buy a Blackhawk! security (double lock) holster for non-concealed carry.

I'm getting the Bravoconcealment holster here very soon as it takes two months to get, due to them making them by hand. Every holster they sell, is made by hand here in America.

As for my pistol, I'm planning to get the Glock 17 Gen 4 (chambered in 9x19 because 9mm ammo is cheap). The one I was sold on was a two tone. The polymer was desert tan, and the slide was black. Comes with 3 mags standard (polymer mags) from the factory because it's a Gen 4 pistol.

So to add discussion value to this thread, gun owners of NGU, do you have guns? Do you shoot? Post some pictures of your guns, let's see them.

Also what are yout thoughts on the Glock 17 Gen 4? The holster I'm planning to get is fitted for a light. Recommendations on lights for the end of the Glock?

As for what I currently own, I have a Hi-Point 9mm Tactical Assault Rifle. I'm getting a Remingon 870 Tactical 12g Shotgun here very soon.

Few airsoft, one paintball, some BB, and some pellet rifles.

Those are really nice man. Smile

My brother just got his concealed license, and purchased an M4 I believe. :p I don't own any guns myself yet, haven't really put a whole lot of thought into it.

Nice arms boys.

With each day that passes I get more and more excited to get my Glock 17. I'm on the fence about a weapon light for it.

Shotgun owners, the only shotgun I've ever shot was a .410. Tips for the 12 Gauge? Recoil reduction?

I don't understand the flak that Glocks get.

As of right now they are the service weapon of choice (albeit in a higher caliber [.40 & .45] than 9mm) of about 95% of US Law Enforcement departments across the country.

They are reliable (see FPS Russia ~ Glock Torture Test), easy to handle, VERY simple to break down and clean WHICH is important for a first time hand gun owner. The less parts, easier the break down, the better.

As for people who are actually old enough, and DO own hand guns, I decided against the light for my Glock.

I'm getting this holster here now (due to it being smaller) - You must login or register to view this content. but I can't decide between the J Hooks or the Belt Loops. I'd like the option to wear it either inside my pants (as that is what these holsters are intended for, hence the name, Bravo Concealment) and outside on my hip. For that though, I'm thinking J Hooks. Thoughts?

See I disagree. I think a Glock is perfect. I got to handle the one I chose, and I had handled a few different models before I got the Glock.

I looked at a few 1911's (which I am getting, just not anytime soon), a few Springfield XD's which my buddy carries, and that paticular Glock just felt right.

Today Will Be Different
Don't get me wrong or anything the Glock 17 Gen 4 is a nice gun, the mag release is bigger and a lot easier to use and it's got a ton more add-ons that the Gen 3 didn't have. My only issue with it was that gap in the back strap wasn't big enough to fit a Mako tactical stock in it.

Plus another issue with the Glock 17 is that it's bulky in my opinion. If you haven't seen a Glock 26 ask and see if they have any for sale. It's subcompact which makes it more concealable. But in the end you're getting a Glock, they are great guns, easy to field strip and clean. Good luck on the test!

My dad has carried that gun for about 4 years and it weighs like nothing loaded it still is very light. Always fully loaded with LE ammo not legal for citizens :shh:, but as long as you don't shoot it and you "collect" it, it is perfectly legal but it will tear straight through 80% of bullet proof vest.

My house and family for that matter have many, many, many guns along with a shit load of ammo because a gun is about useless w/o bullets but he carries that gun inside his jeans waist, always buys 1 inch too big so his gun fits perfectly keeps it very concealed and you can't even tell he carries.

I'm only 14 and own three guns myself, there is plenty of guns in my house, cars, etc. I have always been taught that you never pull a gun, show a gun or indicate you have a gun until you are ready to shoot, you never pull a gun for imitation, not that you should just pull and shoot if they want to back the fuck off thats great but you don't just pull a gun in a fight just to scare somebody because a lot of people will grab that bitch by the barrel and I have no joke seen a crazy mofo have a pussy pull a gun and he grabbed it and held it up to his forehead and yelled "Shoot me mutha fucker!" like 3-4 times then ripped it out of his hands and through it to his buddy and beat the shit out of him. Not a smart idea.

Any way thats my thought on guns.

Well I have time between now and when I get my Glock. The 17 just felt right.

I had shot the Glocks that my local PD uses (shot an actual service weapon, not an officers off duty carry), and I believe it was a Glock 20 something. It was either a .40 or .45, can't remember. It was nice, but meh.

The 17, I just like it. Feels right to me. 17 also comes with different back straps.

I don't know what I'm more excited about, getting my gun, or getting my holster from Bravo Concealment.

As for the Blackhawk holster...Well I lucked out something major.

My rents are getting a divorce, and my stop dad was/is a cop (his service weapon was not the one I shot, shot a different cop's gun), and he had THE EXACT holster I wanted for my Glock 17 in some stuff destined for a yard sale. It's already pre-broken in and everything. So that's 110 dollars USD saved right there.

Only need my gun, rounds, and my holster + mag holster from Bravo Concealment.
