So yeah i've seen this image on facebook so many times, and so many people say it's 0, it makes me fear for our generation Not Happy or Sad

Adding how much is owed to the parents and the $1 that is kept is irrelevant and was just written to trick you. If $100 was borrowed and $1 was paid back to each parent, they would still be owed $49 each ( $98 ), plus the $1 already paid back to each parent ($2). $98 + $2 = $100 originally borrowed. Like the I said the $1 kept is completely irrelevant.

lol thanks I wasn't reading it properly. I saw this on twitter and i was like wtf at first but now i get it.

the answer is 13 as you do the multiplication first then the rest of the sum which adds to be 13.
