(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This is a sort of philosophical question that I was thinking about today. I enjoy everything about video games, I like art, and I find technology/computers interesting, but I'm also pretty smart (I have about 95% booksmarts and 5% social skills).
My question to everyone is: should people like me do what they are interested in, and possibly waste their intelligence, or use their intelligence to the full potential?

Honestly, I feel too guilty to not take advantage of my intelligence, so I think I should keep my interests as hobbies and a side sort of thing.

By the way, if I was unclear, when I say "do", I'm talking about college/career.

Using your intelligence should not hamper your enjoyment of what you do. If it does,you might want to reconsider your options.

Why can't you use your intelligence to forge a future for yourself in tech and computers, which you say you're interested in? The two things are very compatible.

Good point, but I don't really know what I could specifically do (what I can major in). Plus, I'm curious about the salary and what-not.

You can do both, it all depends how u manage your time. I would say get into creating apps if you know anything about that. Apps or social sites, those dudes became millionaires

Don't waste your gift. Use your intelligence to make a better world. You won't always play video games. You have to grow up sometime.

I've only ever enjoyed what I'm intelligent at so technically I've hit 2 birds with 1 stone so winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Career its all about the salary $$$

I myself consider myself fairly intelligent and have taken advanced placement classes including AP Comp Sci.

Now I would say to do what you enjoy, but obviously that doesn't work fully. So people make choices between many factors like income, location, social status, etc... I am going to major in AP Comp Sci.: Game Design.

This may seem a bit of a ramble, but my point is to do what you love, unless the side benefits are more important to you.
