Do a barrel roll!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This is a sort of philosophical question that I was thinking about today. I enjoy everything about video games, I like art, and I find technology/computers interesting, but I'm also pretty smart (I have about 95% booksmarts and 5% social skills).
My question to everyone is: should people like me do what they are interested in, and possibly waste their intelligence, or use their intelligence to the full potential?

Honestly, I feel too guilty to not take advantage of my intelligence, so I think I should keep my interests as hobbies and a side sort of thing.

By the way, if I was unclear, when I say "do", I'm talking about college/career.

Knowing how to make the app or site isn't all there is too it. You need an idea for an app and have to market it. Same with a website. If you aren't sure what you're talking about don't say it.

yo dude... use your intelligence but use it so you enjoy it too. like a couple others said, go into computers as your career. you could be a programmer or a technision or a computer engineer. there are so many more. along with doing what you want people who go into computers as a career make a lot of money. i want to be a computer hardware engineer and that pay starts at around 70,000 a year. not bad huh?

Don't be so obsolete;p Things aren't always that simple you can use your intelligence and do things you enjoy!
BUT I must say the whole, 'I'd feel guilty wasting my intelligence' thing makes you sound very narcissistic:p

Thinking is the only think i ever really take pride in, without my intellect i am nothing, and life has no meaning.

Not to mention there are a lot more benefits both socially, economically, and personally that using your intelligence to its fullest brings.

Also nowadays the hottest women like guys who think and have a decent sum of money who is also at bachelor status so....

Rock that mind of yours and take everything you can get. Having fun is overrated, sacrifices must be made.

Even if your giving up one thing, you can get multiple things in the process.

Enjoying life is much more important than being successful in societies eyes. Success is defined by the person achieving it. For example, I work an awful job but I've only worked two weeks in the last month. I have enough money to pay my bills and go out an relax for the other two weeks. That is success in my book.

I wasnt talking about being successful in societies eyes, i was talking about being successful in your own vision.
Kind of like how you feel about your current situation, not many people can be resolute about how they live their lives, thus they actually become worse. Some people dont even know how to go about getting what they want, which is sad.

I do consider myself gifted with a high IQ/Intelligence. Being smart doesn't mean that you have to "work/study 24/7". Go out, explore life, have fun, play video games, do whatever the fuck you want but just don't forget to pay attention to your study/career and make sure you give it enough time.

Intelligent + doing nothing = waste as you could of helped your country/community in some sort, or at least improved your financial status.

Intelligent + working/studying 24/7 = Boring life, you are missing out a lot.

Being moderate is the best in any given topic/life issue.

I rather excel at something and talk about it than excel at everything and keep it to myself.

I'd rather excel at everything and talk about nothing.

If people know something they will use it against you, information is critical and has a price- a cost. Do not give it away freely, make them work for it, or at least try to see their intentions. Its boring to brag... makes you look stupid imo.
