Welcome to the 1st Edition of NextGenInterview, today we will be interviewing You must login or register to view this content.

You must login or register to view this content. is currently the Social Media Coordinator for NGU, he has been staff for a total of 14 months.
He enjoys playing basketball in real life with his friends, though while he's not doing that, he is either playing Playstation or browsing and moderating NGU.

Me: Hello Melo, and welcome to the 1st edition of NextGenInterview. Would you like to say hi to anyone?
CLM: Hello Cade. Thanks for the interview. I'd like to give several shoutouts. First to Carmelo Anthony for giving me this name. To the COD4 UFO hack for getting me to sign up on this site. To In 'n Out for making the best burgers. And most importantly, I'd like to thank the academy.

Me: Ha, you're quite the jokester. So, what brought you to NextGenUpdate, and why did you first become active?
CLM: I originally signed up way back in 09 because one fateful day, I was playing COD4 and there were people flying. Upon a quick Google search, I found a NextGenUpdate tutorial video that directed me to the forums. I needed an account to download the link, so I made one. After that, I only really got on once or twice to see if there was any news about hunter128's challenge lobbies. (At the time, he was the only one who could host them and I randomly got in one of his lobbies while playing MW2)

Having 0 prior forum experience, it took a while to really understand how everything worked. Once I got a general feel of things, I was a daily member. I became active during summer of 2010ish It happened because while bypassing on COD4, I discovered a new patch blocking method that I went on to post here. After some positive feedback, I stuck around and got more active as time progressed.

Me: As a great contributer and as a member who has made many threads that have later been stickied, what would you say to a new member who wants to get some recognition?
CLM: Well for starters, you're the first person that's ever noticed that about me haha. I know I'm no modder or hacker, but I do enjoy making detailed threads from time to time. I always aimed at making sticky worthy threads!

As for advice to new members; make quality posts regularly, don't start trouble, don't give rep too much attention, make some good threads when you have a chance, and pop in the shoutbox for a chat every now and then. What new members need to keep in mind when first starting off is that we were all there at one point. You don't start on top of the ladder. You work your way up. Being a regular poster and having a good attitude will get you recognized sooner or later.

Me: Well, as everyone knows, you're really into music. What are your favorite artists, genres and songs?
CLM: KANYE WEST. I have every song, album and collaboration of his in my library! In terms of quality to quantity ratio, beats, lyrics, and voice, Kanye's my favorite. He's always pushing the envelope for something new. Ever since his Graduation album, he's been constantly revolutionizing rap with his new sounds. 808s and Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Watch The Throne, and Cruel Summer. Other than Kanye, I like 2pac, Jay Z, Nas, Big Sean, J Cole, Big L Meek Mill, Wale, Biggie, Kid Cudi, and probably a few others I can't think of right now.

Genre wise, hip hop dominates my iPhone. I mean, I have some Michael Jackson, Bee Gees, Hendrix, Ne-Yo. But all that probably only occupies about 10% of my music collection.

Me: Wow, quite the response, that leads us to the next question. You were recently promoted to Senior Management (Admin). Do you have any plans about how you're going to help enhance and better the site?
CLM: Yes. Behind the scenes, I've had several ideas and plans to grow the site. Can't get in too much detail there, but there are big things coming.
Forum wise, I'll be helping out users with profile problems. Lost passwords, name changes, DOB fixes, etc. Basically community manager work.

Me: Well, that concludes this weeks interview, it was great taking to you. Do you have anything that you would like to add before you go?
CLM: The Boston Celtics will win the NBA championship this year.
